I've mostly observed in the past couple of weeks as forum members have taken the hide off each other at times.
Some of it was sad to me, but I've got a theory about the whole thing: We're family here. And I don't know about you, but in my family we do some fussing at times. You too, heh?
We've almost lost a couple of our most loved forum members due to some of our silliness and I do hope they will have second thoughts and join us again. Every one of us has given thoughts at times to yanking the plug and never returning to the forum again. Then we find ourselves checking it, just to see if anybody is sorry for saying ugly things or trashing a forum brother or sister, and before we know it --- we're posting again.
I know a good number of you, and some I don't. But I detect a good sense of humor among most of us. Even after a peppered duel (like Diane and Billy going after it) I always see smiles returning.
We all have opinions and we are darn lucky to live in a country where we can express them freely. May that never change!
In the past week, we've grieved with a local family who lost a darling baby girl. Oh, what pain they must be feeling today. And what I've noticed is solidarity among forum friends in support of this wonderful family. It brings us back to family reality, doesn't it?
Even the terrible murder of a doctor in Wichita created deep discussion here, then we all agreed --- it was wrong, even if we vehemently disagreed with his manner of making a living. And even he has family members and friends who are hurting today.
So, I'm only writing this to say, "Be of good cheer, folks."
Others are suffering out there. If you're not one of them, count your blessings today. Say a prayer for others.
And above all ... keep being you!
I'm not sure, but I think I love you.
Very well said, Rudy!
And... we love you too!
Very nicely said Rudy. Thank you for not only thinking it..but putting it into words.. :-*
((But I'm still mad at you for telling Ta Ta that she is smart and has common sense.. )) ::)
For us who have to try to live around her after that.. ....well..............you just don't know the misery you have created. ))(http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/thud.gif)
May you NEVER type anything like that again..........(http://www.cascity.com/howard/animations/lamer.gif)

Rudy, you have a way with words. Thank you for this post.
(if we're family, does this mean you're adding me to your Christmas List this year ?? )
Yes, and my birthday is Christmas Eve and I love homemade chocolate meringue pie.
There you girls have your Christmas giving list started. See to it you don't forget.
MMMmmmmm----! Chocolate! 8) 8)
Edie, do you think we could get the girls to add us to their list?
Yah mean chocolate pie for everybody on Christmas Eve? :o :o
No, no! You misunderstood.
I don't BRING you a pie on Christmas Eve.
I just sit back and wait for the chocolate, gold, frankincense and myrrh to arrive at my house.
I'd be happy to send you a homemade, pie but it might not be safe to eat by the time it arrived. I still owe you some cookies as it is!
COOKIES!!! Who is getting cookies?
Rudy is making cookies, I think! :D
Lots and lots of cookies
Cookies I see
Lots and lots of cookies
Cookies for me!
Thirteen rows of cookies
Thirteen teeth of rookies
Thirteen cookies all for me
Thirteen cookies all for tea!
Thirteen hungry beasts
Thirteen monster's feasts
Thirteen cookies eaten
Thirteen monsters beaten
Thirteen monsters preparing
Thirteen monsters repairing
Thirteen cookies all for me
Thirteen cookies all for tea!
Emma-Jane Smith
Diane, You don't have to send me cookies, just freeze the dough (chocolate chip, please) and ship it UPS next day. Don't worry about baking them, I don't.
;D ;D ;D
Rudy,
You gave me a giggle today...............when are you coming to Longton? I am usually at cafe from about 11:30 till whenever
we all stop talking!!!!! LOL
You could share our table with us.
Oh, if you really want a chocolate pie, I might have a box of chocolate pudding in the pantry........
you can make it when you find the time.
And the cookies you can buy frozen or not and just pop in the oven.!!!
Course, now that summer is here (or was) you may want to cook them in the morning
to save heating up the kitchen.
Nice post..........I agree.......this is family...........but it is nicer for me when we can all get along without slinging the
Mud....or what ever you want to call it. .......Peace!
God bless
Rudy, I agree with your post. This forum is a fabulous, unique family. Elk County and the surrounding areas don't realize how lucky they are to have this gem in their midst...I have searched and have not found anything like it elsewhere. Teresa and Kjell work so hard to keep this site going.
The Forum is like family to and I do enjoy it. About the cookies, Rachel Ray was cooking cookies on her griddle instead of heating the house up with the oven. I haven't tried it yet but they looked good.
fry cookies..............maybe I could make THOSE lol.
Easy on the oil. I'm not sure she used any oil on the griddle but it was a non-stick griddle.
Rudy -
I agree. I come from a large family - there were six of us girls. We really know how to fight! :) But we also knew we were family and we would pull together whenever necessary. So . . .
Rudy, you really have a way with words. Have you considered working in the word field? ;D ;D ;D
And now I'm going to have to search for that griddle cookie recipe. ;)

I love homemade chocolate meringue and homemade lemon meringue pie. Ms. T makes a lemon meringue pie almost as good as my grandma used to. If she makes you a chocolate meringue pie, I'm coming to your house.
