Robert Louis "Benny" Vinette, 52, longtime resident of Howard, died Dec. 20, 2002, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Howard United Methodist Church. The Revs. Julie Shields and Robin Haines will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Flint Hills Assembly of God and the American Heart Association. Contributions may be left with the Zimmerman Funeral Home.
Vinette was born March 14, 1950, in Winfield to Helen Elizabeth (Thornton) and Darrel Hedges Vinette.
He graduated from Howard school and grew to manhood in the Howard community. He also completed his college degree and several graduate level courses. An accomplished electrician and woodworker, he had performed abstract and title work for the Elk County Abstract and Title Co. during recent years.
Vinette was an active member of the Flint Hills Assembly of God.
He is survived by his companion, Sue Bauder, and his mother, Helen Vinette, both of Howard; a brother, Rex Vinette, Wakarusa; and three sisters, Mary K. Elliott, Topeka, Jeanne Bjorklund, Oakhurst, Calif. and Janet Vinette-Lupardo, Scottsdale, Ariz.
