WOW!!!! I bet Karl Marx is smiling over Denver these days.
Smilin' and doing high 5's.. ;)
I thought I had heard some ballyhoo in previous conventions...but this one takes the cake. I have heard nothing but checks being written that have no hopes of ever being cashed (i.e. empty promises). If this is what the Democrats think will entice the voters, then I can't wait to see/hear what the Republicans trot out for view. Barnum and Bailey should be involved somewhere, I would think...with Bozo as the main announcer! Gods...I would vote for the one person who would stand up and state openly, "There is realistically no way that we are going to change this government until you all vote out the crap that you voted in to begin with...get busy and get all of the trash out of DC". But, you will never, ever, hear someone prodding the public to put an end the "public servants' " free ride.
Someone said Michelle Obama gave a great speech a how touching it was and what a great first lady she would make. Michelle Obama, didn't write that speech, in fact she probably didn't contribute to the writing at all. As far as her delivery , given her past performances, I am sure they must have coached her for weeks on how to deliver it with the most tear jerking. They have had to keep her muzzled ever since she made her first big public statement about how she had never been proud of America.
Yeah Frank That was me. Maybe you ought to read the rest of the story sometime instead of just the part they pick out. I think Cindy McCain would make a good first lady too. Reckon somebody coaches her too.............................?
Here is the full quote "On February 18, 2008, Obama commented in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback." Personally I think it got twisted into somthin other than what it was by the press lookin for an excuse. That's my "niave " opinion tho :P

Catwoman you have hit the nail on the head.
Now tell me Hillary can't deliver a speech. Oh yes she can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree greatguns. I watched her speech last night and caught myself wondering just how she got beat. She has improved her speaking and delivery of speech dramatically since I watched her earlier in town hall meetings and debates.
I am not a big Obama guy, but the dumbest thing that man has done is not take her for a running mate. That, in my opinion, would have been very, very tough for any challenger to go up against.
Can't wait to see what Bill says!!! After laying out what he did yesterday on his "hypothetical" candidate A and B comments, he is a wild card.
Hillary did give a good speech, I was impressed. Maybe we should get rid of the guys and make up a ticket of the wives :P

Uh huh..... you bet he is!
It is scary watching the Democrat Convention seeing the people, how they act and how they portray themselves, these are the people picking our leaders for the next 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some don't seem very serious or intelligent, I am sure our Forefathers, founders of this great Nation would be absolutely horrified if they could see this. Unfortunately both parties are guilty of the same.
I guess you will have to elaborate a bit on that. I don't comprehend what you mean. They look like ordinary AMERICAN'S to me, taking part in our political process. How do you think they should look? Like Millionaires sitting at $5000.00 plates set on gold covered tables sipping martini's and eating caviar? Frank, this is what the "working class" looks like.
KOA radio announced this morning that vendors will be operating as normal in Mile High Stadium this evening.
The cost of a medium Coke was put at $4.
If a medium coke is 12 ounces that puts Coke at $1,792 dollars per barrel.
Waldo, that looks like a case for Windfall profits tax to me.

Flo, I was going to ignore your quoted comment about "working Class" but since you don't know me, or anything about me, and I don't know you I couldn't resist. I am almost 68 years old, have had major back surgery twice, a total knee replacement, I work 10 to 12 hours everyday of the week, I am on call 24 hours a day. I just finished building two Pergalos, I am doing a my own landscaping, I am up by 5:00 A.M. every morning and work outside until dark every nite. I CONSIDER MYSELF WORKING CLASS AS WELL. I plan to keep working until I am 75 then I am going to be a WalMart greeter.
Frawin, please post a picture of yourself so that we can see what a serious and intelligent person looks like! Keep counting your money and please don't be scared of the poor stupid people.
frawin, do you plan to watch the Republican convention also? Or will we all be watching what Gustav is doing by then?
Diane, I didn't watch the Democrats that much and I won't watch the Republican Convention, that much. I have talked to people in the past that were delegates and nearly all of them have told me it is a farce in reality, they all said it was a big paid partying vacation.
According to Fox News,
The really good conventions were in the 1950s when the candidates had to slug it out on the floor of the convention. Since that time, at least for the Democrats, the winning candidate has been preordained before the convention starts.
Republicans may have a similar history.
I don't watch any of it on either side. We know quite a few people who are on the inside of all ( of both parties) of it working and it is all so pre-rehearsed and canned and phony that it makes me sick to my stomach. If the American public knew the real truth about all the behind the curtain things ...well.. most of you wouldn't believe it..
but trust me.. Not only is it so unbelievably scary.. it is just plain disgusting.
I won't even turn the TV on this week because of it.
I just say my prayers at night and hope like crazy that God DOES know what he is doing................
sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh :-\
I don't get in here too often.
I have more than enough on my plate with politics attached to it.. but I have to say this:
Teresa was working the other evening and I did watch Clinton speak.
Clinton actually said, "Everything I learned in 8 years as president and in all the work I've done here and around the world tells me that Barack Obama is the man for the job".
Pardon my term....But what a lyin' sack of crap. There is a reason they call him Slick Willy.
This was nothing more than saving face. Bill can't stand Obama and has not minced words about it.
If you had an election for the head of the baker's union or whatever, would you pick a guy who had never turned on an oven, who never ran a bakery, who never got up before 11 am, who had never cooked any bread or cake and only tasted almost 1/2 of one pie (half a year in the senate) and it was just the crust with no filling?
That's who the democrats want to put in charge of the United States of America. He has never held a job. What ARE they thinking?

THANK YOU. I was about to jump out of my skin while I was listening to the Impeached One talking...I couldn't believe all of the diatribe. The only way that the DNC could have made my skin crawl any worse would have been to have had Jimmy Carter up there, the reason why we had 19-21% interest, toilet paper rationing and gas rationing.
By the way...did anyone happen to notice the look on Michelle Obama's face when her hubby was accepting the DNC's nomination...there was an absolutely unholy light coming out of those eyes. She is one of the scariest people I've seen in a long while...smarts combined with unbridled ambition. She has even had the audacity to try to style herself in the same vein as the late Mrs. JFK...an affect she didn't quite carry off, no surprise there. The press has been trying to push the idea of her being the next Queen of Camelot, too...again, no surprise there. The press has been making sure that Obama has more than enough exposure to get elected.
