Thank you, Flo  --- I need your protection here.  lol
OK  I apologize --- the last post that I read was about hot pepper jelly -- had to go back a ways to realize you were talking about the okra.  This "old woman" gets it all together and then sometimes forgets where she puts it. ??? ??? ???
The recipe that I have used is:  Pint jars-----
In each jar put a few slices of onion..a few slices of jalapeno pepper (optional) 1/2 teaspoon dill seed - 1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic ( from the jar ) 1/2 teaspoon celery seed.
Pack with smalll washed okra - pack as tightly as you can.

Pickling solution:
4 cups white vinegar
4 cups water
1/2 cup canning salt
1/4 cup sugar
and I added maybe 2 or 3 tablespoons pickling spices ( in a cheesecloth bag)
Bring to a full rolling boil pour over the okra -use a non-metal knife to remove any air bubbles that may form, wipe clean the rims of the jars and put on the HOT flats and rings.  Process in a water bath 10 minutes.

The peppers and onions are my addition to the recipe -- also there was one jar that I did not have enough okra to fill- so I used baby carrots....YUM!  The hot pepper slices just gives the okra a little "kick" - but you girls can do what ever your taste buds can handle.
  Good luck
Jo

Isn't it great to be able to joke and laugh?  Teresa and Jo, you two seem to have the same relationship that I have with my girls.  You can make "snide" remarks and not be afraid of reprocussions from the other. Thanks for that, Flo --- Both Teresa and Sherri are my VERY BEST FRIENDS  We have so much fun together, but the shared together time is not nearly as much as I would like ... but please let's just leave it there, because it is hard to tell what each one of them would  respond.  Ohhhhhhhh  Please, just let it lie, girls.
