Title: DAVIS, Josie (Sprague) - b. May 16 1886 - d. July 29, 1927

     Josie Sprague was born at Busby, Kansas on May 16, 1886 and departed this life at the Chanute Hospital on July 29, 1927 at the age of 41 years, 2 months and 13 days.  She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sprague of Busby. 
     Josie was united in marriage to James H. Davis on February 24, 1914.  To this union were born two children: Eleanor, age 12, and Alan, 9.  She was an affectionate wife and mother who always had a kind word and cheerful smile for everyone.  Josie will be loved and remembered for her spirit of helpfulness and many kind deeds.
     Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss her father, mother, three sisters, Mrs. Jessie McDonald of Fall River, Mrs. Eunice Dame of Longton and Mrs. Winifred VanBuskirk of Howard, and one brother, Warren Sprague of Coyville.
     The funeral service was conducted from the farm home near Busby, Rev. Frank L. Page of Longton in charge.  A mixed quartet composed of Mesdames Crawford and Burford and Messers Hainlin and Carter furnished the music.
