I recall that a bus came into Howard and stopped in front of Cooleys Barber Shop. Dont know who the agent was but dont think it was Cooley.
On one trip leaving Howard we were waiting for the bus and a station wagon showed up saying as near as I can recall that the bus was not coming to Howard anymore. The station wagon took us to Severy and we caught a bus out from there.
Waldo, when I was a kid at Howard the Bus stopped in the Street in front of Allen's Drugstore and unloaded Ice Cream, and picked up the passengers. You bought your tickets at Allens also. I don't ever remember it stopping in front of Cooleys.

I, too, remember the bus stopping at the Drug store in Howard. Severy had bus service from Henderson's Drug Store in the late 50's and into the mid 1960's. I took the bus from Severy to Pratt in 1965. It stopped at many little towns and service stations along with way. As I recall, I changed buses in Wichita and went on to Pratt.

I worked at Allen's Drugstore in 1947 and 1948. Yes, we did sell tickets for bus transportation. In 1946 there was a bus line that came through Longton, and it also stopped at the intersection of Albright's Drugstore on the south and the Post Office on the north. . My sister and I went to Wichita with our cousins that had been to our home over the week-end - They took us back to the "City" -- now that was quiet a change for two young farm girls. We stayed for a week and when it was time for us to come home, we rode the bus from Wichita to Longton. It was the first time we had EVER been on a bus. I really wasn't very impressed as we stopped at every town and I didn't think we would EVER GET HOME. lol
