Title: It's a Boy
Post by: momof 2boys on April 22, 2008, 07:55:46 AM
I ran across this poem while cleaning.  Someone gave it to me when I had my oldest son.  I love it.

Its a Boy
What has pockets full of rocks
Worn out shoes and dirty socks,
With a bug, a worm, a fish, and a frog in a box?
It's a boy!!

What sneaks a tom cat through the screen
To share some cake and a bowl of ice cream,
Goes out of the way to wade every puddle it seems?
It's a boy!!

What spill sugar on the floor,
Eats all the cookies and begs for more,
Forgets that Mom said, "Don't touch the wet paint on the door!"
It's a boy!!

What draws pictures on his hands,
Jumps out of trees - Thinks he's superman,
Drives Daddy's nails in the porch just to see if he can?
It's a boy!!

Its a boy, learning every day to be a man.
Just overlook his faults and understand,
He needs a little time cause he's doing the best he can!

What has eyes that melt your heart,
Ears that hear a stray dog bark,
Arms that hold you tight when he's scared of the dark?
It's a boy!!

I am also the "mom of 2 boys", both grown up now.  This is such a special poem.  Thanks for posting it!
