Newspaper printed at Progressive Community, Kansas, a communist commune. Mailed to subscribers from Cedar Vale, Kansas.
From the Progressive Communist, September 1875.
"Our paper is again delayed, and we cannot make any more promises about it as long as we are so poor, and work on the paper, is gratuitous. If communists want their paper regularly they must stir around and get subscribers enough so it will pay us something for our work, and then we can afford to hurry."
The above are the words of Nikolai Konstantinovich Geins, a former Russian army officer and mathematics professor calling himself William Frey.
