From the Howard Courant - Citizen, January 29, 1942..............................
Washington, Jan. 23.--The new time law should be simple, as some officials see it--all you need is set your watches and clocks ahead one hour, wherever you are, and then forget about daylight saving.
The legislation is plain. It provides that the standard time in each time zone shall be advanced one hour at 2 a.m. February 9, and that this shall remain in effect until six months after the war ends.
