Title: Foolproof Fudge
Post by: Mom70x7 on February 10, 2006, 01:00:58 AM
3 cups semisweet chocolate
1 can (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped nuts (your favorite variety)

Line a square pan with wax paper. (Original recipe said 8-inch; I prefer 9-inch.)

In a heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with the condensed milk. Watch this, so you don't overcook.

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped nuts and vanilla extract.

Spread evenly into prepared pan.

Chill for 2 hours or until firm.

Once firm, turn onto cutting board, peel off waxed paper and cut into small squares.

This is such an easy recipe. Even my kids can make it. I've tried it in the microwave, but I don't have enough control over the "melting" process that way. It's incredibly rich, so make sure you cut the pieces small.

WOW ~` what a powerful recipe.   I read that - waited 5 minutes, stepped on the scales and I had gained 5 pounds.  Guess, I better just stay with reading about lettuce and carrots
Seriously...that sounds very good and very easy.  Thanks for sharing.

That weight thing - that's why I recommend small pieces!  :D

And definitely don't forget the nuts. My son recently fixed it without nuts - just not the same.
