And here's a picture of the same Severy church, from Christmas 2004:
How great to see this beautiful old church still standing and cared for.
I actually mean't the picture to go on another thread where they were talking
about the Severy Church. I don't believe I have a photo of the Clear Creek Church
but will keep looking.
Roma, just curious, do you have ties to Severy? I went to high school in Severy.
Myrna
No I don't Myrna. My ties are to Moline mostly through my father's side of the family. I inherited
a big old ten gallon lard can full of old photos back in 1970 when he died. I have all kinds of old pictures
from the area and a lot of people that are unidentified. Someday I'm going to put them up on the web
some place where people can go through them. But it will be quite a job.
Oh Roma, That would be absolutely wonderful --- My Mother's family were all from Severy -- I would be so happy to see them posted. The church is the one that my Mother and her family were members of.
Roma... scan them & send them to me and when I get a bit of extra time, I will try to make a slide show out of them with the text on each one that has text..
IF you want to.. not trying to be bossy ( like Ta Ta) just am offering.. :)
Roma, that would be great if you could do that! I had relatives that lived in Severy and also attended the church, as well as one was a school teacher, etc. Would love to see them!

Most of the photos are from people in Moline and Howard, I believe, all though not certain. There are more of people than places. I will see what I can come up. There are some wonderful photos of children. A few have names on them and others do not, but someone might recognize them. Maybe I can split them up in categories, children, groups, etc. and have Teresa do separate slide shows. Then maybe someone might spot a family member and I would send them the picture. One picture is of a young boy with a bulldog. It is of George Craner. I have seen many references to this man as I have gone through microfilm of the Moline Advance.
scan and send.. I will do my best. :)
