Honestly, not all of my off shoot relatives are criminals or connected to them. However, the Ben Busby mentioned here was my uncle. He married my dad's sister Alice or Aunt Al as we called her. My big sis, Darlene, remembers when this guy got out of jail in the 60's. He bought a brand new Ford and listed Uncle Ben as next of kin on his finance forms. He took the car with a bunch of people and drove it down to Oklahoma. On the way, he was drunk and drove it into a semi. The Ford Co., tried for years to get the money for the car from Uncle Ben and Aunt Al. No luck there because you can't get blood from a turnip. They weren't rich folks and they certainly didn't have the money to pay for that.

Sister,

You really need to make this comment correct.

Reading this story from the 1930's made me cringe.  If the sheriff had been killed, those responsible would have been hanged.

Maybe.  Maybe not.
