Two, four, six, eight.
Who do we appreciate.
Marcia Moore! Thank you, Marcia, for posting the interesting bits from yesteryear. Isn't it interesting that most of them are still true?
Marcia, really enjoyed reading your postings of today. Enjoy all of them, actually. And that guy that drowned had what every husband wants - a wife who will just jump right in and help him any way she can ;D ;D ;D
Shirley Black for bringing such energy to Elk County!
Shirley Black is great! And you should see how she is raising her children.
Marcia, glad that you have access to some of the things that were in the Severyite. It brings back lots of memories!
Did you ever find out about your question on Flint Hills School? When I get back to Midland, I'll make some calls and see if I can help you find out. I was pretty young when a lot of the consolidation was going on and probably knew at the time, but it didn't mean anything to me then.
mlw
appreciate Lois , wish you would come back!!!!!!!
I do appreciate the articles that Marcia is adding from the Severy newspapers, because this is the town I consider to be my home town even if it is not in Elk County.
listen up,---------- I met DeeGee and his lovely wife this afternoon WooooHoooo
I was absolutely amazed -- What wonderful "down home" folks they are and you should see their home and acreage...............BEAUTIFUL lovely flowers -- manicured lawn - two days ago, Fred stopped in their place and was visiting with them on his way home from town, and they gave him Fresh corn & squash...Now tell me --- how great is that???
He told Fred that he read my postings on the forum ( I probably might should not be too proud of that ) .Ohhhhh I love this forum more than ever -- it brings wonderful things into your life.
So Nice to meet you wonderful people, DeeGee and Mrs. Dee Gee
And that is what this forum is all about, so I say, I appreciate Kjell and Teresa for making this possible for us to have this lovely website to converse on.
I knew someone would get around to Teresa and Kjell. That's the reason I didn't start out with them.
I appreciate each and everyone of you who post and share with everyone, all that you do.
Where would our forum be if we didn't have you ?
All of you are my "forum family" ...and they don't come any better.
You are all the best! :)
I already knew that. :o :o ;D
Right now I just want to say a big
You go, girl!
to Teresa!
(and to Kjell - but you go, boy just doesn't have the right ring to it. :D :D :D

Yeah, but the problem is...just where do the boys "go"? Grandma always said not to follow them because they pick just about anywhere to "go". LOL
I was thinking along that line but decided against it.
See! That's why you are my mother.
My gosh, am I the only member of this forum who isn't kin to Janet?
Naw --- some of us jut go with the flow [ not flo -- flow ] to see what happens around the curve. Seems to make sense to me...butttt??????? who knows.
We may not be blood related, but related by experiences we have had with each other in the past, present and quite possibly, the future. It seems to tie us together---as a bond. By the way, Janet and Wilma, it was good to see your sister and daughter yesterday at the pool with two of her grandchildren, Jordan and Wyatt, who both call me their "cousin". I love it!!!
many of us may not be related to each other, but chances are in many circumstances we are relation to relation back down the line. I found out just a few months ago that that my great-uncle was married to the aunt of my best friend from grade school. Doesn't make us relation to each other but we decided close enough to call each other cousins, and we are still best friends 55+ years later.
As I said on another thread, there are bloodlines and heartlines. If you weave them together, they become lifelines.
I've already written it down. You got a book of this stuff, Diane?
No, that one is totally my own. I am the author.
If you have many more like that, you'd better write a book.
:)
How was dinner?
It was wonderful. French onion soup, frutti di Mare on fresh homemade linguini, a fresh fruit on vanilla and raspberry gelati sundae and my best friend to share it with. I don't think it gets better than that. Bedtime ;)
Indeed it does not.
It sounds divine.
Thanks for sharing.
:)
I have to express my appreciation for Marcia Moore again. She saw her duty, served her country and did a job that none of us really want to do, and the hardest part of that particular job. So I want to say again, thank you, Marcia Moore, for being a good American. Our country is better because of people like you and I am proud that you are a Kansan and so close to being an Elk Countian. May the good Lord bless and keep you.
Appreciation time again. To all our firemen, all volunteers, who turn out to fight the fires that threaten our community. Not only that, but the response time is terrific. The fire whistle doesn't go around more than 5 times and there is someone there, no matter what the time of day or night.
Also, to Kjell and Teresa, for their reporting and photography. It's better than being there in person because I don't have to go out. And to the other Forum members that post what they know as soon as they can. Since my hearing isn't impaired and I hear the sirens, it is almost more than I can bear to sit here and not know what is happening and where.
and at the same time, appreciate those law enforcement officers who keep the "gawkers" back out of not only harm's way, but out of the way of those trying to do their job.
