:o :o :o  So fast and helpful that you spelled Westar wrong, but I know it was just a typo because you just go go go go go, girly.

Does anyone else remember Reddy Kilowatt?

Whatever happened to him?

This is from Wikipedia

Reddy Kilowatt was a frequent presence in publicity material until energy conservation replaced energy production as a national goal with the growth of the environmental movement and the OPEC oil embargo. He is now rarely seen. In 1998, Reddy was bought by Northern States Power Company, which created an entire subsidiary, Reddy Kilowatt Corp., to manage the cartoon. That company later created Reddy Flame, a character promoting natural gas.

I remember Reddy Kilowatt being the "Mascot" for KG&E when my Grandad Arch was County Agent.

I remember Reddy Kilowatt.  I entered and won a coloring contest with KG&E when I was a little girl.  I won a really cool flashlight and some other stuff.  I think Reddy Kilowatt may have been my childhood hero during that time.   ;D

I had forgotten about Reddy Kilowatt.  What fun to see that image, Kevin.  Thank you.

didn't know where to put this, so here it goes here.  This is special for Jody -

I don't know just who you are, Jody, but in a post you had concerning the James Bros.  you mentioned your grandmother, Rebecca Tabor Davis.  This is the reason for my inquiry.

When I was in 7th and 8th grade, we had a classmate by the name of Frankie Tabor.  He graduated 8th Grade at Severy, but left and no one seems to know to where.  We are coming upon our 50th class reunion and in looking over old class pics. I was asked if I knew what happened to some of the ones that didn't go on to high school with us.  Frankie is one of them and just wondered if perhaps he might be a relative of yours.  He would be around my age now, middle 60's.

Flo, I applaude you for including folks you went through school with but who did not graduate with you.  My Mom's best friend in the world moved away before their Senior year and she invited her to their 45th or 50th reunion and everyone was thrilled to see Beverly.

My wife's best friend dropped out of High School to get married and she took her to their 20th reunion and again everyone was thrilled to see Shirley.

Good Luck finding Frankie.

thank you, kfclark.  You know, we had a 40th reunion, and decided to invite those that had gone to school with us in the past, but not graduated with us.  We had 5 or 6 join us. One of those ladies we invited was so thrilled, and we had such a nice visit.  Unfortunately God called her home after a very sudden illness, one year later.  And how I found her (hadn't seen her since fifth grade) was a state chemical inspector came into the co-op where I worked.  He bought something while he was there and his check said _____ or Treva C. _____.  I asked if by chance his wife's middle name was Colleen, he said yes, I asked would her maiden name have been Mitchell, he said yes, and Wall-la - I told him who I was, he told her when he got home and that's how that came about.  Were I not a nosey or observant person, whichever, who knows if I would have located her. And she just lived in El Dorado.

I checked the Social Security Death Index and found one Frank Tabor listed who was born in 1943.
www.familysearch.org (http://www.familysearch.org) has a Search Feature that links to the SSDI.  I sure hope he is not your Frankie.

I'll check out this sight.  This Frank Tabor, being born in 1943, would be too young to be in my class, I think, but who knows.  Putting my brain in "yesteryear" mode, seems to me Frankie was living with a grandmother or some relative.  I also think that he may have been of American-Indian descent.  I do remember he was a very quit person but always with a smile.  You know, at that age you just don't pay that much attention to family details of your classmates.  Doubt that they even do today.
