With all due respect to the ex-Elk County Sheriff often in our presence, that is just a remarkable piece of work. I don't know that such a piece of writing would get you passed through the Kansas University School of Journalism today, but it is very entertaining (and refreshing) nontheless.

That is one fine piece of writing.  Wonder if Sheriff Richolson ever found the original prisoner he was looking for?  Can you imagine trying to pay $35.00 reward?  That would have been a lot of money back then.  Just the $10.00 would have been a lot of money.
