Central Air College of Wichita Will Put On a Brilliant Air Demostration

Monty Barnes, who has charge of the transportation department of Central Air College, Wichita, came over to Howard yesterday in a Swallow airplane  to make arrangements, secure grounds, etc., for a big air exhibition and demonstration for Saturday and Sunday, March 8th and 9th.  He was accompanied by Dick Adams, student pilot of the school.

Mr. Barnes secured the old Hanna pasture, north of Howard, and our readers will see by advertisement in The Courant and placards in the store windows that there'll be something doing in the air regions of this city, Saturday and Sunday.

The purpose of this exhibition is to advertise the Central Air College, the leading flying school of Wichita, located at Travel-Air Port, of that city.  This college is backed and sponsored by such well-known men as Walter Beach, president of Travel Air; E. A. Watkins, president of Watkin's Rebabbiting Service; Charles Carr of Coleman Lamp Co.; Earl Hutton, vice president of the Swallow Company, and others equally prominent in air circles and activities, which is destined to become the leading school of the entire middle west.  These demonstrations are visiting all the leading cities and towns of Kansas and adjoining states with their air circus, and Howard is fortunate to be included in their itinerary.

Come out and see what these expert flyers can do.

More than likely Dale "Red" Walter was right in the middle of all this.

I imagine he was.  The pasture belonging to Sam Hanna was probably the one he owned at Fiat, as it is pretty level there.

The Perkins own the big barn north of Howard that is called The Hanna.  I wonder if this is where the air show was going to take palce?

Probably so, since the air show was at Howard.  Otherwise they would have said at Fiat.  Sam Hanna probably owned quite a bit of land around.
