Garden
Cucumbers twining around and up over my garden fence

Summer has become a venerable foe

the muggy morning is like a blanket

   hard to breathe

   my eyes become blurry

Yet the cool creek water renews my waining strength.

COOL!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D  You guys rock!!!!     Here's one...Zip code:  67456

I wished upon the evening star;
Each wish fell short, being too far...
A tear silently fell,
Dripping into the bottomless well
Deepening each day away from you.

WOW! There is some talent here. Very good ones.
Pro, try it. It can be free verse and not rhyme.

Ready,  I like your idea.  Let's go with this:
Teresa and Kjell started this forum.
For years it was busy,fun--lately
Nothing
Nada
Maybe we'll bring it back.

That uses Diane's idea of using one word for zeroes as well.
Teamwork solves the problem.
