Elk County Forum

If Teresa and Kjell wanted to improve the Forum and participation by many on many good subjects all they would have to do is Shut Ross, Redcliff and 3 or 4 of Rosses cronies off. Everyone I have talked to is afraid to post because Rosses gets so rude if he doesn't agree with them.  I hope all of the voters will vote their heart and vote against Ross and his lies. Ross has Elk Konnected on the  Brain. Most of the people he has claimed were "El Konnected" had nothing to do with it. Ross is the worst thing to come to Elk County in along time. I know lots of you have told my family and friends that you ignore Ross.

Someone who doesn't understand the confusion their chosen name can create is trying to put down the owners of the very forum they are permitted to use for free. Really?

Ross and his lies? People disagree with Ross and automatically call him a liar. Ross and his cronies? Someone comments on a thread that Ross begins or a post that Ross posts and they are automatically his cronies. Ross has the well being of this county on his brain. Most of the people he has claimed ARE Elk Konnected won't/can't admit to it because for some reason no one is allowed to talk publicly about it or they don't really know what they like about Elk Konnected themselves. As for the voting, Joesue, a vote for Doug Ritz is not going to be a vote against Ross and all of his lies, as you put it. And Upoladeb, not always, but isn't that always the big point here in this county? We have to keep people HERE. Not let them move away and then maybe come back to retire. We have to get people to stay here. This is a dying county. I believe that is the point being made.

Ross makes valid points. Sometimes he doesn't go about it the right way, but all of us are human and all of us make mistakes. But I will bet my last dollar that the owners of this site don't want Ross to go anywhere. He brings a lot of traffic onto this website, good or bad. His Elk Konnected thread still gets a lot of views daily. Just because people aren't posting don't mean they aren't reading. And just because they say they're ignoring, doesn't make that necessarily so as well. Just watch what they post after they are supposedly "not reading" Ross.

Your attitude, my friend, is a good reason why this county is dying.  What qualifies as a good person to come to the county?  Someone who stays quiet and goes with the status quo?  Someone who won't call out and make public the socialistic agendas that effect everyone in this county?? The way to fix the forum to your liking is for you to start your own forum. That way you can decide on who you want on there and who you don't want on there. You can press your socialistic agenda by censoring what people say by taking away their first amendment rights. That's exactly what communist countries do, only air what they want aired. It's nice to know that Elk Konnected folks like yourself, like Shari Kaminska, like Liz Hendricks, like Nancy Liebau are spouting off with good post. We know where your communist, socialistic agendas lie. It's not hard to put 2 and 2 together or konnect the dots. I myself am not a socialist or some damn commie. And I don't always go with what Ross says, what redcliff says, what Patriot says, but I'll damn sure stand up for their right to speak their mind and only a moron would tell the owner of a website or a forum how to run it to suit their needs. We damn sure wouldn't want anything being said about any Elk Konnection, raising taxes so close to election time. Kaminska said that 20 years ago things were a lot better than they are now, but yet she moved away for 25 years and just came back 8 years ago..but knows everything there is to know about how to fix this county. She has no plans that she can tell anyone about. Sort of reminds me of another stupid statement, we gotta pass the bill to find out what is in it (Nancy Pelosi, another liberal). These kind of people are what is screwed up about this country now. Only a fool would change a horse midstream. And lets talk to people like they're in 3rd grade, let's show them pictures of bulls and cows and dogs. It looks really great before someone's even in office to treat you like you're incompetent and wouldn't understand. And maybe they didn't. Rudy Taylor has a list of candidates and offices on the front page of his Prairie Star this week. For District 1 County Commission he has Shari Kaminska listed and reminds everyone that her name will be the only one on the ballot. Thanks Rudy, for reminding everyone that they will need to write-in Doug Ritz's name!

That's why Tuesday, November 4th, I will vote for Doug Ritz, AGAIN, who has a proven track record and has done more good for this county in 4 years than his predecessors were able to do. --Robert

I must say, I am humbled by the positive as well as the negative criticisms I have received on this tread today.

It seems some people think they can attack the problem of a lack of population in Elk County by spending money and by using economic development. Yet, if they understood a little bit of Elk County history and what made it percolate at one time they might understand throwing taxpayer dollars in the manner called economic development will not return the population to the days of yesteryear.

I went to West Elk USD 282 and looked over numerous records related to the School Building on highway 99.
I read studies and information relating to the building that showed that, Howard West Elk which is the abandoned school building in the center of Howard, you know the Howard blight. That building had 700 and some students when it was closed, just where did those 700 students go to school when that building closed? Did they go to the new West Elk? The one they think they need to add on to for only 300 students.

Well, anyway a report written back then stated that there use to be hundreds of small farms in Elk County that were bought out and are now parts of the big farms. That displaced hundreds of families and that means they moved out of Elk County. There went your population.

I seem to remember someone on this forum suggesting, making available 50 acre parcels so people might move here. And the reason for 50 acres was described as people might feel they actually have a farm or ranch.

But do you think the people that own the large acreage want to give it up? I doubt it and with proper justification.

Elk County doesn't have an industrial park to provide a place for any size industry to build, or the population to provide employees.
There is also insufficient housing to provide for employees if a company brought their own people.

Just like she said that she is going to bring four industries into Longton , but with out any meat in the statement, sounds a lot like a liberal Democrat named Obama to me. A RINO if you will. (Republican In Name Only for those that don't know what it means)

You don't hear garbage like that out of Doug Ritz. I believe Mr. Ritz may think about making promises like I do, if you can't keep a promise don't make it. I believe Doug Ritz is that HONEST !

It's all just my opinion, but try calling Kaminska and ask what those four industries are and ask how many employees they will hire from Elk County or if they will import them? And then ask if there is enough housing.
 
Then give Doug Ritz and ask if he is bringing industry to any where in Elk County and find out the Truth for yourself.
Just ask yourself who is making campaign promises they can not keep and why would they do that? I believe you will come up with an intelligent answer of your very own.

Ross makes many good postings.  However, liberals/socialists never like seeing his posts.
It's no surprise that they want Ross and some us removed from the Forum.     

Most Americans are on some kind of government program or they're working for the government.  Others are scheming for power like the Elk Konnected bunch.  Ross provides them no comfort - they don't want to lose their government security that is being looted from other Americans.  Everyone can tell that Ross does not like tyranny and the tyranny has many followers including some whose ancestors settled in Elk County, Kansas.   

Who would have thought that socialism would establish such a strong force in America?   

There's a clear and distinct choice in the County Commissioner election.  Hopefully, Americans like Doug Ritz will prevail in the elections and the socialists will lose.

It is a Good thing that  Teresa, and Kjell, take the 1st amendment which you obviously hate and despise. So in the spirit of the 1st amendment, You can just go f off.  I am not nice and polite like Ross and Redcliff are, i just tell you like it is. 
I like Ross, Redcliff, and the rest of this group and your pretty much a newcomer as i haven't seen you on here before.  I in particular don't give a rats ass if you are here or not.

I think this picture might explain the difference between Mr. Ritz ad Ms. Kaminska.
Mr. Ritz has put money back in our pockets via lower property taxes while Ms. Kaminska has already stated she wnats to take it away from s and hire a new county Employee as an Economic Development Employee.
Which has been proven to be an effort in failure by having had other Economic Development Employee that failed to accomplish anything.

The West Elk School District has increased our property tax and I believe the majority of the School Board Members are Elk Konnected, go figure! That needs to be changed in April, doesn't it?

So this picture sort of illustrates a similar attitude in my opinion.
