Title: Girl Scouts Need Help!
Post by: Girl Scouts on November 30, 2006, 11:27:31 AM
Hi,

My name is Angela Cheever and I'm the Field Specialist for the Girl Scout Council of the Flint Hills. I have been trying to bring Girl Scouts back to Moline and Howard since there hasn't been any troops there for several years. I'm looking for caring, responsible adults who would be interested in leading a Girl Scout Troop. It could be one person or several people leading one troop or several troops. Girl Scouts is very flexible and very rewarding! The leader(s) would determine when, where and how often the troops meet as well as the activities during the troop meetings. We provide free training, resources and support. If you or someone you know is interested in helping Girl Scouts in any way, please call me at 1-800-342-4532, email me at angelac@gsflinthills.org or post a reply. Thanks for your support and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi,

Right now, we don't have a Girl Scout Troop in Howard. However, we do have girls living in Howard that are in a Girl Scout Troop from Severy. Please call Debra Lance at 620-736-1175 and she will find a Girl Scout in Howard to come take your order. If you would like to see what Girl Scout Cookies are available this year, go to www.littlebrowniebakers.com and click on Cookies.

We are still looking for volunteers to help with Girl Scouts in Howard and Moline. If you know of anyone that might be interested, please give me a call at 800-342-4532 or email me at angelac@gsflinthills.org. Thanks for supporting Girl Scouts!!

Angela

Yes, and the cookies the Severy Girls Scouts are selling are only $3.00 a box, whereas I am pretty sure Wichita is getting $3.50 per box.

The Severy Girl Scouts are a very involved group of girls.  They have been organized for several years and when my daughter was in grade school, I volunteered as a leader. We were very involved with the Emporia Council and attended many of their events. The moms up at Severy that are leaders and role models for those girls are very dedicated. It is time well spent with the next generation of young girls.
