I want to take that back. I did feel the house shaking, but since we have moved to N. Penn in Independence, I thought it was just a semi. LOL

See?  Living away from home, you are missing all the good things.  KAKE just reported it was centered northeast of Sparks, Okla and was a 5.2/

Well, don't have TV yet and since I am wasting my life playing on the forum, I have to just go with the flow or the earthquake or whatever.

Felt it here in Gentry, AR also.  Was watching Tulsa Channel 8 do a story on the earlier ones when it went through their strudio, and just a couple seconds later the ceiling tiles and ceiling fans started shaking!

Upgraded to 5.6.

Jim and I both felt it. We were sitting in the living room talking, having just watched the Oklahoma State / K-State game.

That's one item off my bucket list -  :D  :D  :D.

A 5.6 is not a mild one.  Glad no one was hurt.

If it happened here in Longton, I never felt it. Neither of the dogs reacted either.
Seems one of these days we will get one that everyone is going to feel.
Hold on to your hats..........!

The shaking and vibrations were a lot stronger here last night than they were the night before.

Judy, maybe you better get better "watch dogs".. The shaking never woke me up but had the bedroom door pulled almost closed and it banging woke me up but I thought maybe the wind was doing it. Got up stumbling and grumbling thinking a window in the house was open and making the door rattle----then this morning Tommi said it scared the crap out of her and she jumped in her car and drove around and never saw so many houses with lights on at 11:30 so must have been a bunch of people wondering what the hell was going on.

I still swear, I did NOT feel or hear anything........but, from talking at church several of them did.
Compared it to a heavy wind, or a sonic boom......but, after comparing our houses.......Mine is on a concrete
slab and those who felt it were in houses with wood floors.
My old dog, Scooter is getting hard of hearing and won't hear me when I call him, unless I pound on something to get his attention and Sassy just snuggles up with me and doesn't move, if I don't.
I do know, if someone opens the door after we all go to bed, they do sound the alarm.
Robyn stopped in unexpectedly and our rule of the house is, if you are family or friend, you open door and holler, " Knock- knock!" and they both came unglued........no I don't think they would bite, but they will raise an ruckus.

I heard a little ruckus last night about that time...at first I thought "honest Ron" had fired the opening salvo of the next Elk Falls-Longton skirmish, although there was no evidence of "incoming". I also took comfort knowing that at that time of the evening, Judy wouldn't be wandering.  Maybe since it hasn't rained we needed something different to deal with!

I was at the Indy house and the house shook all the window panes. I thought it was just the wind. LOL Jim said that he was in bed in Howard and he didn't feel anything until Colonel jumped square dab into the middle of the bed. Woke up Jim and little Sammy, who then thought he needed to teach Colonel a lesson about waking everyone up. I wish I had been there.

Was in the garage when it happened, definitely freaked me out. It has one of the "floating" concrete floors which must have amplified it a bit or something. I was sitting in front of my car on a wheeled mechanics chair and the chair moved side to side, I then heard a noise that sounded like heavy wind over the garage, then noticed my car started rocking pretty good side to side. :o

My wife was next to me dancing to a song so didn't even feel it . She did say she noticed the poles of the car lift moving a little bit though.

So do they, Janet, so do they.

I would have liked to have been there to see Jim's reaction. That would have been worth a laugh or two.

It is something, remember one that we had to peel one of the kids off the wall.  He tried to hide in it I think, the other one was on the floor under the table.  Had never seen those two kids move so fast.  Just so thankful that there wasn't more damage and that no one was hurt.

I fell asleep to the rain pouring and the rumble of thunder in the distance and once
I conked out, did not wake up until about 4 and did not get up until about 5:45
Again, I did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

I can sleep through the roughest thunder........Not the lightening on top of me, but never have any problem when it is thunder and rain..........so, maybe if I am awake and up then.....guess I am just lucky that way,.

Oh, I had brought in my rain gauge, but did put it back out for the evening rain.........had 3 inches when I let dogs out........do not know how much earlier yesterday..Nice amount and seems the ground just drank in the water. Not too much mud.
Praise the Lord.

Oh, rain sounds so nice.  We got a few sprinkles yesterday.  It is overcast her this morning so maybe we will get rain today.  Maybe I will get a load of clothes in the washer, that used to work to get rain.

My daughter at Grove, OK said she has been feeling the quakes.  Brings back her memories of growing up in AZ.

I have slept through some earthquakes in AZ when I was young, now I can't sleep.

Hope everyone has a good day today.
