By now you've picked up on the buzz that, according to Harold Camping of Family Radio, the rapture will occur this coming Saturday, May 21st. He's even gone so far as to predict the exact time (6 PM), though there's some confusion concerning time zones around the world.
Speaking to the matter of predicting His return, Jesus himself replied:
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Mark 13:32).
Jesus tells us in Matthew 24: "Therefore stay awake, for you do not know the day your Lord is coming ... the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect" (v. 42, 44).

I have been hearing this and have to just laugh because we have done this kind of thing before and we are still here. It is amazing that some religious folks believe that how they interpret the Bible is the only way that life is. This man predicts the exact day and hour that Christ will return to take us to heaven with him. Interesting that he is the only one who knows this.

It is because he like most religious folks have got it all backwards and messed up. INSTEAD of predicting the date and setting on their butts waiting on him to come, they are supposed to be out there spreading the salvation message, not the doomsday message and not worrying about what time or day christ will come.
I am not so sure I would classify him with 'most Religious groups' unless he is like the Phelphs CLAN.
I would consider that to be a cult, if I was forced to label. Free speech is a right, and the nasty taste in my mouth when I hear him speak is a preference, and I spit it out.
I'm Ready whenever He comes, are you?
Ready

I'm Ready whenever He comes, are you?
That's the important part! :D
Whether I am ready or not depends on how the Preakness turns out today. If I lose heavily, I am ready. If I win, I won't be ready until it is all spent.

Now THAT is a ' horse of a different call-er" ;D
I told my wife yesterday that today was the end of the world. She started dragging out the suitcases.........I fell down I was laughing so hard.............I am still hiding.
I think a little more advance notice, say, a da.........wee.....mon............few years would be good.
If it is the end today, I will not be posting anything. Come to think of it, neither will anyone else.
Larryj
So presumptuous of you Larry... ::) ;D
Wilma? Ya gonna bet on our local Fair Hill Horse? ;D I am!
I don't know yet. I haven't seen any with a name I like and of course they aren't showing us the horses. I usually pick the gray one or the one whose tongue is hanging out like a dog's or the one that just looks happy and interested. And if one of them happens to be dancing on the way to the gate, I know I have a winner.
Wilma, one year Dons' grandson was here, and we all went to the races in Eureka. His folks let him place a bet in one race and he picked a longshot because he liked the name. He won, hands down, over a hundred dollars! We should be asking the opinion of a seven year old! ;)
I'm ready to go, but my choice did lead for the first half of the race.

Well I hope you had Shackleford... he led all the way.
Shackleford didn't lead all the way. He took the lead about half way and held it. The gray horse took the lead right out of the gate but couldn't hold on to it. I usually bet on the gray unless there is one that I definitely like better. I can't even remember his name now.
Anyway, I am waiting.
Since Animal Kingdom is from Fair Hill, just up the road from me, I backed him. As you know he came in second this time.
I'm a winner! Shackleford broght me the money. ;D ;D 8) 8) 8)
Hey! Or in this case is that "hay." :D Good for you Great ! He looked so nervous and antsy just before the race I thought he might fold. He was my second choice. So I had them both, but in the wrong order.
Since we're still alive today I've got to clean house after all. ;D
Glad to see everybody made it to May 21 Survivor Sunday :) even the ones in politics that make my A** itch :D
We have been given another chance to make things right with the Political thread! ;D Is that even at all possible? If it can't be right, then perhaps just our opinions...I think that is the issue. :-X
I certainly don't mind the political differences, but I do hugely mind the very few when they jump to character assassinations and personal attacks to deflect from the issues. Civilized people just don't need to do that. Let's keep the political comments where they belong please.

Depends on who says it's right. To paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld:
1. There's what the right says is right and is right
2. There's what the right says is right and is not right
3. There's what the right says is not right and is not right
4. There's what the right says is not right and is right
Oh, never mind, I forgot the number one rule in modern right thought, the right is always right even when it is not right.
And the number 1 rule of right and wrong: THE LEFT IS NEVER RIGHT!
the shadow.....KNOWS!!
Ahem...as I said..... ::)
Yes, Diane, you are right.
Yep...and here we go again. Good try though DIane. :) :)
Believe it or not Diane, I agree. Trying to stick to facts and honest opinions is a good thing.
I think that when a thread is started, it should stay on topic and not be hijacked and flop all over the place to some other topic. I.E. this one: end of the world to horse racing to a lesson in political correctness.
EXCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCUUSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE me Ms. hillbilly moderator of the forum! >:(
Now, I just had a coffee break of a heck of a good time....and you are sending some of uss to our rooms??? :o
Well, now just pshaw!
Hijacking has been going on, throughout this forum and yet I will and do bet on an old grey mare to start another thread to
get us off course yet again!
And to think, I was thankful I lived through today. :-[
You're excused. I never called myself the moderator of anything. Other people were making the same kind of points in their posts and yet you call my post out? Other people were giving their opinions on posts, yet when I do, I'm sending you "to your room"? I was making an observatioin, as everyone else was. Geez, I haven't hardly posted for awhile yet when I do, I get my ass jumped? And who said this is Ms. Hillbilly? I'll go sit in the damn corner like a scolded child and only speak when I'm spoken to.
Sorry that you took it this hard. In life, whether it be politcs, horse racing or how to grow tomatoes, we all have our opinions. Neither right or wrong or independent ( not leave anyone out).
I do agree that some threads get off topic...and somehow that is indicative of people and their passions.
I don't hate you hillbilly. Now, come out and play with us seriously! (I hate politics, however I choose things that matter to me, and the other stuff I leave to those who can utilize the English language, or call a spade a spade.
Aren't you glad you didn't fall for the "end of the world" thread and cash in your 401K????
I am Ready, irrespective of what you alll think.
Can't we just all get along and not be so damned sensitive and PC all the time????
Apparently you read more into my post than should have been. You in no way hurt my feelings or could you. I never said you hated me, but more power to you if you do. You wouldn't be the first or the last. But I'll let you think that you put me into my place by scolding me! It's called sarcasm (my first language) and I'm very fluent in it...
And who the hell says I didn't cash in on my 401k? I cashed it in and spent it at the liquor store to celebrate the end of the world so I wouldn't have to put up with stupid people anymore! Apparently there are a lot of sinners on this forum because we are all still here and not caught up in the rapture.
or is this life as we know it real?? Didn't you watch the Twilight Zone?
I can't even spell 401 k let alone have one. (Ok, I just threw a twist in there)
Good for you to stand up and speak your peace!!!! And, after all that booze from the 401K, you must have a headache, so I repect you wish not to YEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ;D
it was fun folks, I am off to count some chickens that haven't hatched....hmmm I sort of remember something about this...
Hillbilly....you are a straight shooter. Sorry I aimed my BB gun at you.
Wasn't Rapture a song by Blondie???????
