From the Longton Weekly Ledger, February 4, 1874:
Dr. Livingston, the African explorer who has been believed to be dead for many months past, is now believed to be alive somewhere in the interior of the Dark Continent.
Henry M. Stanley, a reporter for the New York Herald found Dr. Livingston(e) in darkest Africa supposedly asking the famous question "Dr. Livingston I presume."
The town of Stanley, Kansas, in the metropolitan area of Kansas City around Overland Park was named after the famed journalist.
