Title: George William Colvin
Post by: historicmoments on September 20, 2010, 02:03:32 PM
Hello, My great-grandfather George William Colvin was born ~ 1877 according to his headstone. The story is that he was orphaned, but also that his parents may have been Isaac Colvin and Henrietta Tice. I haven't been able to prove this. I can't find out what happened to Isaac and Henrietta. He is with WE Roller and EC in the 1885 Census in Painterhood, and OA and Ella Hiatt in the 1895 Census also in Painterhoodl. After he is married to my great-grandmother Clara Jane Foster they are living in Longton in the 1905 Census. I have not been able to find him in the 1890 or 1900 censuses, and there has been no way to prove who his parents really were and if he had any siblings. There are lots of Colvins and Calvins, also Tices in the area along with Rollers. I have wondered if the Rollers or Tices are somehow related, but to date there has been no proof at all. I have searched all of the records that I can think of and would appreciate anything you can do. Thanks for your help. :)

Dan Durbin can probably help you.  He is a member on this forum and related somehow to the Tice family and is big into genealogy.  You are probably already aware of all the Tice family buried in the Busby Cemetery.  Dan Durbin is your man on this one, I believe.
     And, Welcome to the Forum!
