A crew started working hard Thursday on the new cell phone tower which will be situated at 1677 Greenwood-Elk County Line Road. The tower is situated in Elk County, along the south side of the Elk / Greenwood county line road, approximately 3/4 of mile east of Hwy. 99. The crew poured cement on Friday and they are working today, too.
What cell phone company is doing that, Marcia?
T-Mobile.
Oh, good. I like some of T-Mobile's phones.
That's just perfect.
My husband and I have cell phone service through T-Mobile and they shut MY line off last Wednesday. They said my phone roamed too much and refused to restore my service. My husband works in Wichita and so his hardly ever roams.
Now I can call and throw a fit.
They have brought in the tower pieces now and should be erecting it in the next few days.
The tower is progressing. It is supposed to be 360' tall and currently is 200' tall.
Wow. All I can think to say. Can't wait to see it. Glad I'm not the one that has to do that.
What place to base jump from, it made me dizzy just watching the video.
Wow!!! :o :o :o
I don't know what kind of money these people make,but it SURE ISN'T ENOUGH!!! :o :o :o
I would love the money they make. They make around 295.00 a hour.
I would climb a tower for that kind of money if i could physically do it.
I want the monthly rent they are paying the land owner to have it there! ;)
The tower builders made it to 360 ft. yesterday and last night the tower had a red light on the top of it for the first time. The tower is a mile south of our house so we could see the red light from our back yard. Don't know how many days it will take them to finish hooking up everything on the tower and getting it running.
They couldn't pay me enough to do it.. I hate being high in the air..

I'm with you Diane. I would prefer my income to come from having a tower on my land. ;D
Teresa,
You sissy girl---I remember the time---WW-II it was ---ol Sarge was a P-51 Mustang pilot---flew me behind enemy lines at Iwo Jima---I bailed out at 2,000 feet---chute failed to open---landed atop a flag pole on Mount Suribachi--ol Sarge thought it was funny as hell---said I looked like an
X- large angel on a Christmas tree---I failed to see the humor---I thought it was a real pain in the arse---nope I wasn't scared of heights !!!
Honest Ron
Now, jarhead, me thinks you might be fibbing just a little. Old Sarge ain't quite that old to have been in WWII. LOL
Janet,
That really hurts my feelers, you questioning my honesty. ol Sarge lied about his age---just like he lies about catching more fish than me.
Oh well, Jarhead it sounded good. I hate heights too but never have enough brains to remember that until I get up to far.

That's the biggest bunch of crap I ever heard!
Crappie? ;D
This is footage from the now infamous Senior Road TV Tower collapse near Houston, Texas back in 1982. It killed 7 people when the entire tower collapsed in just 17 seconds. They were lifting the last section into place when it became hung up. They kept trying to lift it, breaking off the welded shackles. It all begins at the 2:43 second mark in the video. On the way down the falling section took out one of the guy wires, causing the entire tower to come down.
