A Roy Rogers movie goes into production in 2012 starring Clint Black as Roy.

His wife, Lisa Hartman Black will play Dale Evans.

Walter Hill is the director and writer.

It would seem that they will have to change the name of the effort, though.  It is now set to be called "Happy Trails."

Lucille Smith aka Dale Evans was was Roy's third wife and they were married in Davis, Oklahoma. They subsequently had only one child, a girl that died at an early age.

Roy Rogers Jr. was Roy's son from a previous marriage.

A Roy Rogers movie was a big treat when I was a kid. But, I have tried to watch several on the Western Channel and just cannot get past a few minutes.

Waldo, Dale wrote a book about their baby called 'Angels Unaware' if I remember rightly. It was a real tear jerker.

Remember the book and it was a tear jerker.  So sad.  First time I saw Clint Black, I thought he looked like Roy Rpgers.

But rather openings where our loved ones,
Shine down to let us know they are happy."

That book came out in 1953 and I can recall all the girls talking about it.

The book is still available on Amazon.com.

I think Clint Black will make a great Roy Rogers.
