Evelyn J. Allen, 67, of Moline, Kansas, died April 8, 2010 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  She was born April 25, 1942 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Elgin and Eldora (Curry) Sherrick. 

She graduated from Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  On June 13, 1969, Evelyn married Richard G. Allen in Bartlesville.  She worked as a cook for West Elk High School in Howard, Kansas.  A member of the Moline Christian Church, she sang in the choir. Evelyn was also a member of the Cattlewomen's Association.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Allen of Moline, Kansas; five daughters, Cindy Lopez of Independence, Kansas, Debbie Eastman of Bartlesville Oklahoma, Diana Wintle of Parsons Kansas, Karla "Sissy" Julian of Moline, Kansas, and Lori Talley of Eureka, Kansas; two sons, Jeff Allen of Boulder, Colorado and Chad Allen of Moline, Kansas; one brother, Charles Sherrick of Nowata, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren on the way.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the Moline Christian Church with Pastor Stan Rumbaugh officiating.  Burial will be in the Moline Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday, April 9, 2010 at Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.  Family suggests memorial contributions to Moline Christian Church.  They may be left with the funeral home.
