Stupidity isn't a virus...But it sure spreads like one.  I can't believe all the diatribe that has been posted on this thread...And you wonder why it's hard to attract people to Elk County...

LOL.... well put, Cat.  The way it was going I thought I was reading something outa Zane Gray or Louie L'Amour.  Sorta put you in mind of that song by Johnny Cash, "Don't take your guns to town, son/ leave your guns at home, Bill"...  Lets see, how's that song go... oh yeah....A young cowboy named Billy grew restless on the farm.... yada... yada... yada.....

Diatribe as defined by Dictionary.com--
a bitter, sharply abusive denunciation, attack, or criticism.

Seeing as how Diane, Pam, and some others do not live in Elk county it is only logical to assume that your statement was aimed at those of us who do.  So, that being said are you willing to support what you said with actual evidence?  Before you do, however, I would like to point out that the "bitter, sharply abusive denunciation, attack, or criticism" have come mostly from those living outside Elk County.

Oh Warph, by the way, before you start tooting your own horn, you might want to go back review some of the posts on this thread.  The largest "diatribe" so far has been yours.

Never said anything ABOUT anybody to START with............yall ALL need to stop with the my d*&^% bigger than yours bull anyway....that's the MAIN reason nothin ever changes for the better in this country...thats how one bunch with an agenda grabs the steerin wheel and while the rest of em are still arguin over whose is bigger drives the whole bunch off a cliff and everybody is sittin at the bottom wonderin how the hell they GOT there.

Where I live now is a lot more backwoods than Elk county ever thought of bein and I LIKE it just fine thank you very much.

On another subject...I watched Boondock Saints for the first time last nite...GOOD movie.

Pam, WTF ???  All I said is that you don't live in Elk County. You might want to try actually reading a post before you comment on it.

If you mean my "diatribe" against the Obama health care reform bill, you're right on.  But notice it was against Obamacare which this thread is supposed to be about.  Toot Toot!

Did read it. Should have separated the leave my ass out of it and the rest of the post :P The rest of it is pretty much how I feel about how these things go.

Jar, Varmit has nothing to fear from my weapons, but there are goofballs out there who would love to use marchers as an excuse to run amok. Or maybe I'd stake him out for bait!  ;D
I guess I'll never make my point about the name calling clear, so I'll give up. I've been called names, so have others, it has been meant to hurt and it did and does. Sometimes ya just try to give people a dose of their own medicine so they'll "get it", but I've failed. I really didn't think I was the only one left out there who didn't care for the raw, edgy, slurs and rhetoric. There is no point in my trying to push a rock up hill, so I''ll withdraw from trying. I was raised by two Kansas parents who believed in manners and respect, especially of elders, even if there was a difference of opinion. I was taught to debate issues and not make it personal. I guess that got lost somewhere along the line. If I had ever presumed to speak to someone twice my age as I have been spoken to here, I would have been severely punished, free speech be darned. So instead of an apology, it's "suck it up?" How lovely. If that's the way this forum thinks it needs to go, fine. If that is what Kansas has turned into, well, I lose. I just got a delightful letter today from the daughter of a life long Kansas friend of my mother, up dating me on her 97 year old mother and her declining health. That's more typical of the Kansas people I used to know. She didn't have to do that, but she made the effort and I really appreciated it.
A good lively debate of political issues is a great thing, but when it's made personal and the ridicule starts, then I'm done. That is beneath me and I'll not rise to it. And yes, I most certainly know the difference between fun poking and mean, hurtful ridicule.

Diane you AREN'T the only one who thinks the racial slur thing is stupid. MOST people do. Even most people who live in Elk County.
Thing about discussin politics or religion is...........I have NEVER seen anybody do either one and NOT get rude or pissed LOL. You have two sides on either discussion....the one who thinks they are RIGHT and the OTHER one who thinks they are right and anybody who tries to meet in the middle is just gonna get stomped by BOTH. ( that's a BIG reason I don't bother anymore much) AND the answer to Warphs "Did you ever wonder" question why nobody bothers to post in politics anymore. Personally .......I KNOW I don't agree with most of the posted opinions and MOST of the posters don't agree or care what MY opinion is so stew in your own juice is my position at the present time about them LOL. I just rejoined out of cussedness and just read. I'll post if I feel like it or get bored but that's about it...in HERE anyway.

Varmit

Warph, No. I was referring to your post on the poor, underclass ghetto piece.

Diane, I have been rude to you?  Where? Which post?
