Margaret "Jean" Zumbrunn, 87, of Chapman, Kansas, died March 11, 2010 at Chapman Valley Manor.  Mrs. Zumbrunn was born October 15, 1922 in Grenola, Kansas to John Ivan and Fleta Nora (Tanksly) Sleeth.  She attended grade school in Grenola and graduated from Grenola High School in 1940.  She attended nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital in Winfield, Kansas for one year.  She worked as a cable splicer for one and a half years at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas on the B-29 No. 1 Enola Gay bomber.

She married Wendell Omer Randall on September 1, 1943.  They lived in Wichita, Junction City, and Chapman.  Mr. Randall died November 17, 1961.  

She married Arnold "Houley" Zumbrunn on August 21, 1963.  They lived and farmed in the Sutphen Mill community until Mr. Zumbrunn's death on April 13, 1985.  She moved to Butterfield Trailhouse in Chapman on February 15, 1986 before becoming a resident at Chapman Valley Manor on May 14, 2008.  She was a member of the Chapman American Legion Auxiliary Post 240.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn J. Boyd; her son, Everett "Chuck" Randall; and two brothers, Clyde and Carl Sleeth.

Survivors include her daughters, Elainea Cynova of Junction City, Kansas and Elizabeth "Betty" Stevenson of Hope, Kansas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held on March 16, 2010 at the Londeen Funeral Chapel , Box 429, Chapman, Kansas 67431.  Pastor Martin Schlossman officiated.  Burial was in Indian Hill Cemetery in Chapman, Kansas.  Memorials are to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Junction City, Kansas.  Contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
