William Marston Kincaid was born in Bath County, Kentucky, on September 30, 1853, and departed this life February 11, 1937, at his home northeast of Howard at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

He was married to Sarah Jane Kincaid on September 27, 1877.  She passed away on March 24, 1932.  To this union five children were born, Lillie Lee Weeks, of Los Angeles, California; Effie Nell Hupp, who passed away in 1928 at Los Angeles, California; Esrom M. Kincaid, who passed away in 1901; Mrs. Maggie Deeds, who passed away in 1924 and William S. Kincaid of the home address.

At an early age he joined the Christian church.

In 1882 he and his wife moved from Kentucky to Elk County, Kansas, and located near Grenola.  In 1884 they returned to Kentucky.  In the same year they came back to Kansas and located in Arkansas City. Again they returned to Kentucky and in 1886 they move to the present farm where they have lived since, excepting two years which they spent in Los Angeles, California.

He leaves to mourn his going, one daughter and one son, three sisters, Nancy Doggett of WInfield, Kansas; Mary McCue of LIberty, Missouri; and Sarah Bradley of Potomas, Illinois, and eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Howard, Saturday, February 13, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the pastor Rev. Harry H. Weed.  Burial was in Grace Lawn cemetery.
