A.E. LANDIS DIES

 Aubrey E. Landis, fireman for Abe Whith, who was in the headon collision last Friday morning, which accident was mentioned in the last week's GLOBE, died at the hospital in Kansas City Saturday morning, February 12.  He was scalded and burned until it was impossible to do anything for him aside from relieving his suffering as much as possible.
 The remains were brought here Sunday and funeral services were conducted at the Christian church at 2:30 Monday afternoon by Rev. J. Sherman Hill and the remains interred at Elmdale.  The B. of L. F. lodge had charge of the funeral and it was attended by a large concourse of friends.
 The deceased was born at Shelbyville, Tennessee and was 29 years, 11 months and 15 days at the time of his death.  September 30, 1906 he married Bessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Polite of this city who survives him.  They also have a little adopted daughter, Dorthy, to whom Mr. landis was very much devoted.  Of his own immediate family. Mr. Landis is survived by his mother and brothers S. L., A. L., M. E., and R. D., of this city and J. C. landis, a conductor on the Nashville, St. Louis and Chattonooga railway, who resides at Waverly, Tenn.  Also by three sisters: Mrs. Grace McMillen, of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Mrs. Nellie Carpenter, of Deckard, Tenn., and Miss Lonnie Landis of this city.  All the family was here at the funeral except the two married sisters.
