SHILTS, J. Richard - d. January 2, 2010

J. Richard Shilts, 81, of Belle Plaine, Kansas, died at home on January 2, 2010.  He was a retired contractor, farmer, and rancher.

He was precededin death by his parents, John and Maya (Kidd) Shilts; his wife of 47 years, Vivian (Stunke) Shilts; brothers, Arliss and Pete Shilts; and sister, Sally Fritschen.

He is survived by his brother, Gary (Marjean) Shilts and family; his wife, Kay; his son, Rolan (Carla) Shilts: his daughters, Linda (Dean) Shilts-Baum of Howard, Kansas and Kelly Patterson McClune; 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.  

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Belle Plaine, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in his honor.  Memorials will be accepted to the Belle Plaine Ministerial Alliance, P.O. Box 187, Belle Plaine, KS 67013.
