This is from my dear friend, and yours Sharon Nichols......Her son Chris is married with 3 kids. A lot of you Eastern Star people and Elk Countians remember Jim and Sharon Nichols of Oak Valley.
I decided instead of editing her letter I would just let you read it. Longton prayer chains/warriors spread the news the first day we heard and we will continue to lift this family in prayer. Won't you please join us.....The more the better.
God bless you for your help.
God keep Chris (and Sharon, Jim, Tonya, Joe, Penny and family) in your arms. I know You have special plans for him. It isn't easy walking the walk of cancer therapy and recovery. But, with Gods help it is possible.

My dear, dear friends -

I just want to say a big Thanks to all.  (I understand Jack and Velva are out of town)  I took your messages to Chris to read and he was very humbled and said "I guess they must have done the job".  He looked so much better and said he was tired but feeling better.  I heard the story about his doc appt Monday when he was told he had Leukemia and to head for the hospital immediately.  He said he cried and his doctor gave him a hug.  This is his regular doc who had been on vacation while he was getting the go around from his associate.  His main symptom was the horrible sores he has in his mouth and his gums and teeth hurt.  The other idiot told him it was a virus.  His MOTHER kept telling him those sores are serious and you need a specialist.  He even went to the dentist and found out there was nothing wrong with his teeth.  Then he started to get red blotches on his face and body.  His lower eyelids were beet red inside.   In all of my 70 some odd years I have never seen sores like he has in his mouth, on his tongue.  Poor kid!  He had to have been in misery and this has been going on for over a month.  He complained very little. They told him if he had just laid around and done nothing, he would not have been alive in three weeks!  Talk about scary.

Anyway, to bore you further, Pen and Joe were tested to see if they are matches for bone marrow if it comes to that. Joe is already on the register but they insisted that he be retested.  Jimmie is driving up tomorrow to do the same.  Joe came yesterday and went home today.  Jimmie will go back Saturday and come back at Christmas.  I am afraid we won't have much of that, but we will definitely be celebrating baby Jesus ' birth.   you know ----"O Holy Night"-----

Chris has a fight on his hands but we have found out that his doctor is really good and we will put our faith in God as He directs his decisions.

By the way, I gave the wrong room number in my first post.  That is the room next to him and I cannot remember just what his is. It either ends with a 5 or 6.  These darn memory patches I have to wear aren't working too good, I guess.

Must go.  It is 17 degrees now and not going to warm up much, but the sun is shining and that always helps.  Joe took me to the hospital and took my wheelchair and just about froze us to death getting inside, and he is an ornery driver and likes to scare me out of my wits.  (what's left of them)

I didn't mean to write a book, guess  I am just wound up, but just know how much you all mean to me always. Once again thanks and keep those prayers coming.   He's going to need them.

Much, Much Love to all.    Sharon

I don't know them of course but I've put them on my list too. I hope they wouldn't mind.

Judy, if you don't mind I would like to add someone to your list. Bill Barnhill here in Moline is having his first chemo treatment today for non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer in his stomach. It took nearly all summer and fall to get a diagnosis, as he is in good health other than the stomach burning with food. As a result he has lost a lot of weight, however the prognosis is very hopeful. The oncologist said that it could be cured, so we are all praying that he is right. Bill is the fellow I called to sit with me when Ted died, as he was just about Teds' best friend. I ask for prayers for him, please. And of course I will add your friends to mine.

this prayer spot is not just for one, but for all who want to get their persons name on the list.

We know that the more prayers He hears, He answers. Of course, not all of them are answered the
way we think they should be answered.......but, God knows what we need and provides it.

Each church has a list of people, but what faster way to spread the word, then to share it here
on the forum and therefore the Internet.

Some days prayers are hard to get out, I have a hard time putting into words what I want to say......(no I have no trouble typing other peoples thoughts) but when it comes to my feelings and my thoughts I do get a little lost.........so I have faith in each of you helping me keep the prayers for ill/hurting/blue/ the list is so long.
We all have needs...

Remember that God hears all and He knows what is in our hearts before we do.

God bless you for asking and your friendship here.

Hugs
