Charles W. "Tom" Scott, 80. retired Learjet Technical Publications Manager, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013.  He was the son of the late George and Hilda Scott of the Elk/Greenwood County areas.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War.

Survivors include his children, Gregory Scott, Linda Garton (Doug), Vicki Gromala (Ken) and Melissa Schroeder (Jon); grandchildren,  Brandon, Amanda, Lori, Chelsea, Lindsey, Jacob, Joshua, Lucas, and Jason; 4 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Judy Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hilda Scott, and five siblings.

Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Downey & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple, Wichita, Kansas.  Graveside service will be follow at 4:00 p.m. at Piedmont Cemetery in Piedmont, Kansas.  A memorial has been established with St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
