MARRIED

James Tarwater and Miss Virgie Maxwell were married at Wichita, Kansas, Monday, August 24.  Mr. Tarwater has been living on his farm in Morton county for several months and Miss Maxwell met him at Wichita.  After the ceremony they went to Pratt where they visited with friends for a few days and then went to Morton county where they expect to make their home.  Mr. Tarwater is well known to most of our readers having lived here the greater portion of his life.  His is an honest, square man who always has a kind word and pleasant smile for everybody.  Mrs. Tarwater was born and raised here and her sweet womanly qualities endeared her to everybody.  For the past year or two she has been a saleslady in Thompson & Bowman's dry goods store.  The happy couple have the best wishes of everyone for future happiness.

All the many Elk county friends of "Sunny Jim" Tarwater wish him and his bride lots of joy and prosperity.  We are told that Miss Virgie Maxwell, the saleswoman employed for the past two or two or three years by Thompson & Bowman left Howard Monday for Pratt, Kans., where she was married to James Tarwater, well known in Howard.  The rumor says the happy couple will spend a month in the mountains of Colorado.  The Courant extends congratulations.
