This discussion is about whether or not Islam is basically a perversion of christianity or judiasm or pagan. According to my research on paganism it is a perversion of christianity and judiasm.

Perverted definately so as it "borrows" from both religions but it is also pagan as it worships a god that is symbolized by the moon.   One of the main characteristics of pagan beliefs is the worshipping of creation instead of the creator.

Most of what I've seen paganism reveres creation as EVIDENCE of the Creator. They see that reverance AS worship of the Creator.

  That's your perogative. I don't. I think it is an insult to ANY spiritual tradition to compare them to the kind of Islam we talked about here in ANY way shape or form.

  The pagan comparison caught my attention because I did'nt see ANY connection to any tradition I know of. I've pretty much figured out you are a fundamental version of a Christian dude and I don't care. YOUR relationship is just that YOUR relationship and I do not judge you on it. If it makes you feel more special to judge mine knock yourself out!

I don't agree with this guy because he is not my idea of a good example to follow.

Why would anyone revere or worship the creation and not the creator?  The creation is temporary.

Red, if you are talking about Mychal Massie, the man has hate leaking out of every pore. He writes in a very venomous style that I am not comfortable with. I have a hard time even agreeing with some points I would agree with, if not for his dark, dank writing style. Not so much what he said, but how he said it. His article really turned me off.

Seriously??   Paganism, chirstianty, judiasm, islam, ALL of these have elements of the other in the way they are practiced.  Pagans worship trees, christians put up a christmas tree, jews have the star of david, a star goes atop the christmas tree, when do stars come out?? same time as the moon. 

Does it really matter??  I mean in the end we will all know the answer, and if we listen closely, our hearts will be given the answer.
