What Are You Doing For Excitement Today?

The last few days have been nice.  Today is supposed to be in the 80's, then back to the 90's.

What I am doing for excitement I wouldn't recommend for everyday entertainment.  Day before yesterday I had eye surgery to repair a macular hole.  Yesterday was the follow-up trip with a good report.  Everything is as good as can be expected.  Today I am just doing as little as possible and stay sane.  Have to keep my face down so that the bubble inside my eye will rest against the front of the eye.  Kind of like a bandage.  If everything goes as it should, I will have less trouble reading and maybe I can swat a fly again.  It will be at least 4 weeks before I know how much improvement there will be in the vision.  I hope that it is all back, even though it was fun popping off the heads of politicians when I got disgusted with them.

Now, I want to know how you are keeping your head forward and typing on here. I've never heard of a macular hole before. Is that a form of macular degeneration? Sure do wish you good progress.

Wilma

It goes along with macular degeneration.  I am typing on here and keeping my head down by watching the keyboard instead of the screen.  The image I saw of the condition looked like the Grand Canyon.  Of course, it was magnified many, many times.

Well, I have completed my errands today. Even managed to get bulletin done and picked up the church a little.
Others had cleaned, but I see to the flowers and water or throw out. I did that and

Of course, this morning was at doctor's clinic. I have an appointment for a PFT test. That is to see how much
COPD I have. Not sure what it is yet. I will read up on it soon. But, with everything blooming or drying up there is
a very good reason I am breathless at times.

Also think I may have a touch of asthma or emphysema. After all I was a smoker for 35 years and altho I have been smoke free since 1999, ( I didn't get the mouth cancer until almost 7 years AFTER I stopped) why not the other things. We don't do our body's any good by smoking. We have things, evil things, sickness, etc waiting for us in the wings..............damage is done. Now need to learn how much damage and what medicine will deal with it.

for now she is putting me on a new breathing medicine. Since I am on the programs I am, not sure if it will be generic names or the real stuff. Will see when it comes in mail. I didn't want to drive to drug store, and my meds all cme in the mail.

Thanks for you all caring and letting me know it. Right now, I need a nap............and I need a bite to eat and then the day will be just about over. It went so fast.................
Made a little hay, too. LOL.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Wilma, who done your surgery?  My husband had two retinal tears repaired on the 17th of July.  Just yesterday he was told he could go back to normal routines.  Dr Chacko done his srugery.  Good luck with your with your eye.  Steve just had to stay compleltly face down for the first 12 hours.

Wilma

I had Dr. Weishaar and it was done at the Wesley Hospital.  Tell Steve that I think he is too young for eye problems.  Hope he doesn't have any others.  I thought I was going to be completely face down, but they modified it.  If I keep my chin on my chest, it pretty much does the job.

Judy, my doctors tell me that being out in the sun constantly as a child, plus years of living with a smoker is the cause of my eye problems and skin problems.  My smoker quit 35 years ago, but the smoke still caused the damage.

Steve's was also done at Wesley on a Saturday night.  I told him that was not my idea of a night out. LOL   He believes his was a result of stress on the eye after having a battery blow up in his eye around 25 years ago.  I do wish you well.

Wilma, you are in good hands with Dr. Weischaar.  He done a procedure for me 2 years ago.  I got along great, and haven't had any problems like it since.  He is a retina specialist.  He also took care of a problem for one of Frank's cousins.  He comes to Bartlesville and flies his own plane down and brings his own team with him.  I only had to go to Wichita for the procedure and then saw him here after that.  I have a lot of respect for him.

Wilma

Myrna, I liked him. He kept things going in a way that it didn't seem like such a bad thing.  Can't say I enjoyed it, but it could have been worse.

Ms Bear

Wilma, I hope you will follow Dr's orders so everything heals quickly.  Amazing what they can do.  Are you going to be able to read, how good is your vision supposed to be?
