Sorry to hear about the incident at your courthouse and about your friend.

Thanks Janet. Greg was a really good buddy. Of course the court house business will now have everyone looking at how to make the court house safer, and it's already crawling with armed personnel all the time.

I took the day off from work and delivered Valentine flowers for Joanna's Designs. I sure had a good time. Got to see several people I normally don't get to see. I have done this for three years now and every year just gets more fun. Thank you, Joanna for letting me do this.

Only a couple of you will be interested in this. I just came back from a meeting at Newark Charter School. I've been asked to be their fire professional on the State Governor's School Emergency Team. All schools have to do new, updated, more detailed plans and have provisions for drills etc., mandated by Homeland Security. It had been in the works in the state for all schools anyway, but due to recent events has been moved up dramatically. The Homeland Security rep. was there today. In typical NCS fashion their plan just need a little tweaking and a couple of add-ons and it's ready to submit. I 'll be going back to take a 3 hour FEMA webinar program with them in Incident Command for Schools.  I'll be interested to see how it differs from the Incident Command training I've already had. Should be interesting and keep my brain from dry rotting!

I've been watching your weather. My niece has photos of the snow in Arizona and my Sister in Law who would have seen some, I guess, is visiting in San Diego. I wonder if it was south of WARPH. I think when we finally get some it will be mostly rain...again. That has been our pattern all winter. Lots of storms, but very little moisture in the form of snow. It all went just north of us and has hammered New England this winter.

I don't know for sure, but I think we might have received about 8 inches of snow.   We also had rain, sleet, hail, thunder, but no wind.

Yesterday, I thought today was going to be a busy day.  The granddaughters were coming which meant back and forth to schools, etc. There was mention of one of them having softball practice or a game or something.  Then my son-in-law decided to stay home so we don't have the girls.  So the only thing I had to do was to go to the local health foods store for my gluten-free groceries.

Then everything changed.  I still had to go to the store.  Then, my wife gave me some checks to put in her credit union.  Then, the electronics store called and said my laptop was ready for pickup.  YEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHH!  Then the doctor called and wanted me to come in at 4 for a hearing test.  (Wife thinks I am deaf.)  Plus I have some ringing in my ears.

I thought the computer was going to cost more than it did.  I was afraid that because they replaced the motherboard, everything would be lost and I would have to reload all my favorite sites and address book.  But no!  Everything was still there.  And they replaced the keyboard which is a little nicer than the old one.  Everything is looking up.............

Now only if I can pass the hearing test. ::)

(What's that, dear?)  Gotta go.
