On another subject entirely...if you get a phone call from "windows" telling you  that you have  too many error messages and they will help you fix it, it's a scam, don't do it! They sound very professional and will make it sound so real....don't fall for it!

I got one of these calls a couple of months ago. the english was so broken it could barely be understood. But when I finally got the jist, i told her "Oh Bullspit", and hung up. BTW, I did not say bullspit.

This is shaping up to be a really rotten week. I just got a call from a close friend that the husband of another dear long time fire service friend has had a nonsurvivable hemorrhagic stroke. :'(  Makes all the childish stuff going on seem like nothing but foolishness.

Exciting 2 days for us. Going to Wichita this afternoon for 2 reasons. My daughter is moving from Newton to Wichita and we're going to tour her new home today. I'm glad she'll be closer and she's wanted to be in Wichita for a couple of years now. It's nice to help make her dream come true. And then, my sister and her husband are driving down from Minnesota to Wichita, so we'll meet up with them as well. Hooray!

Tomorrow, son James has a graduation ceremony from Wichita Tech Institute. So very proud of him for completing the program, sticking through it even when the going gets tough. He also aced all his final certifications! Double hooray.

Sounds like you'll have a wonderful time. Hope the weather holds for you. We have been rather mild here, which is a nice surprise.

Congratulations to James and I am glad your daughter is moving closer to you.

I just tried something that I have never done before and not knowing whether or not it would work.  But first, I have to set the scene.

I had made a Christmas tree out of a tomato cage and green swag.  I set this tree outside as part of my outside decor this year.  Since the season is now over, I brought the tree back into the house.  Bud took a lot of interest in the tree, especially in one spot.  Because I use this tomato cage for other things during the year, I proceeded to remove the swag.  About half way down I found the reason Bud was so interested.  I could smell it, too.  What to do, oh, what to do?  I didn't want to throw the swag away so I decided to wash it.  In my front loading washer.  You think maybe this won't work?  I thought maybe, too, but I did it anyway.  It worked.  I now have nice, clean smelling swag that as soon as it dries, will be put in a plastic bag and saved for next year.

P.S.  I didn't try drying it in the dryer.  I am pretty sure that wouldn't have worked.  It came out of the washer almost dry, anyway, so in a few hours (probably overnight), it will be dry enough to put away.
