Now, some may want to hide their eyes because this isn't local, and they'll feel intimidated, but I'm going to write about it anyway.
We had our monthly fire company meeting last night and I was surprised to find how many of us have family and friends in NY and North Jersey. South Jersey I knew about because it's so close. We're closing ranks and sending groups our firefighters ,with other Delaware firefighters, to see what can be done. A number of firehouses were lost and are just now being accounted for, as the firefighters were selflessly still trying to help the public. The cousin of a close friend has a home in Rockaway Beach and his house was severely damaged. A number were totally destroyed. It really puts a face on it when it's family of someone you know. Delaware is doing pretty well taking care of its own downstate. The beach and river fire companies, and firefighters homes had some damage but can rebuild.
2013 is my fire company's 125th anniversary, so we are starting to put together some fun activities for all of next year. Soon we'll be going to Applebee's for Al's free lunch.
Have a good day all you vets. You are not forgotten and will always be appreciated.

I am slated to do a program about Amelia Earhart come January so I started my research today. Looks like it's gonna be an interesting topic. I have ordered a couple of books from Ebay, but the online stuff is pretty interesting too. Purdue University has a large collection that was donated by her husband. I have barely scratched the surface there. I am looking forward to it.

This weekend sweet man and myself are slated to go to a concert by Mel Tillis. This is Mels' good-bye tour, and I especially wanted to go. Looks like the weather is gonna cooperate and I should be over my appazoodix by then and will be good to go.  :D :D I have spent the past seven days coughing, sneezing, snot-----oh well, you know. But I am better now. Just using some 'tussin for the cough; just about all better. Course some elderberry wine might be better ;D!

Several years ago Jim and I went to Branson and we got to so to Mel Tillis' theatre. He was great and that is where I fell in love with his daughter, Pam Tillis. Her singing, people, only her singing. LOL

Ahem! Please note the K State game at Madison Square Garden next Tuesday ( I think). I'll be watching! I'm expecting K State to win, but who knows. Should be fun!

Since when do they play football in the Madison Square Garden? Not keeping up, so forgive me if I am wrong.
KState football is almost too good to be real. But, how fun is it to watch comparing it to a few years ago before this coach came back. Go Cats!
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

My car is just about loaded up with the items I am taking on my trip.
I will be gone till at least Saturday. Going home for one more Thanksgiving with my dad, hopefully, not the last.
He is 91 and failing so, only God knows how long we will have him with us.

Praying that you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Even if you are staying home and eating alone, you are loved and can give thanks that you have food. God be with you all....
Hugs too.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

So Kansas State beat UD by a much smaller score than I would have expected. We aren't exactly known for basketball. Then Pittsburgh really trounced UD yesterday. Not surprised.
Judy, I'm sorry I didn't mention it was basketball, my bad. So today we had one very windy front come through that dropped the temperature and sent all our left over leaves downtown. The trees are now bare and there is very little left for the leaf truck to pick up next Tuesday. YAY! Enjoy your afternoon ,what ever you are doing. I'm looking for some new recipes for interesting things to do with sweet potatoes if anyone has anything to share.
In anyone wants to poke me about my keyboard work, help yourself. Al gave me another computer, not a laptop, and with the much larger busier keyboard I keep missing!  My fingers must need glasses.
