What Are You Doing For Excitement Today?

I have had my excitement for today.  Early this morning before daylight.  It is my practice that upon arising, I move through the house without turning on any lights.  The bathroom is adequately lit by a streetlight, as is the kitchen.  However, the room darkening shades at the living room windows keep the living room in almost complete darkness.  Before settling into my recliner, I fill my coffee cup with the aid of the light from the refrigerator, then move on to the darkness of the living room.  Usually, by this time, Bud has greeted me.  This morning he did not.  Assuming that he might be on one of his favorite perches, the back of my recliner, I gently lowered myself to the seat.  I do this so as to not send Bud on a wild ride from which his claws have to be extricated later.  He was not on the back of the recliner.  Another of his favorite spots is the seat of my recliner.  Need I say more?

Well, it got cooler last night and the warmest place to be, except in your bed, would be IN YOUR CHAIR.
Mine surprise me when I think they are both sacked out and I tip-toe (OK stumble) my way to the john during the night
one of them just happens to be laying in front of the door. Should I say, I open my eyes, but just so I don't hit the wall......ok enough pet stories. I need to get busy so I can do nothing the rest of day.........this is bulletin day and I need to go to library and church to do this.
Have a good one.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Wilma, I hope Bud isn't a flat cat now. Did you spill your coffee?
It's another beautiful day here and I've got many things to do. Tomorrow morning we have a Bat Mitzvah to go to at Temple Beth El here in Newark. We haven't had friends with kids the right age for this in many years  I'm wearing a long dress. It's not too often I dress up that much. Hope I remember how. The actual birthday party part is at the fire house afterward. They are having a steeple chase tailgate theme, so I can imagine the decorations will be horsey.  Hi Judy. Both of you, have a great day.

Just sorta floating around, doing nothing...

It's raining at last, a good useful rain. We have a nor'easter coming up the coast  (our winter/spring hurricane) The wind is very gusty but the rain is wonderful.  We are almost seven inches below where we should be .The farmers are really worried. Hopefully this will help.
My forever girlfriend and husband,(a recently retired vet,) drove down to Kennett Square, PA. from Lancaster, PA. to join us for lunch at Giordano's, a good Italian place. I love their wedding soup, it's really tops .
Mary Ann had foot surgery recently and isn't allowed to put her foot down for several more weeks, so she has a neat knee scooter/walker to use. She really zips around with it. You've probably seen them.  Really handy. Have a nice evening everyone. Nice Diane will be back tomorrow, so you won't hear me spout off any more.

No rain here today but it was cold last night, today was sunny and warm.  Perfect day for mowing the yard if the mower wasn' t in the shop, only a year old and already loses the belt everytime I raise the blades.

We have already had as much rain this year as we had all last year.   So nice to see green everywhere.  I do have some trees that have dead branches that are falling everytime we have wind.

I got back from Oklahoma this afternoon, unloaded the van, had a snack, made some phone calls, and got the all important nap. I am happy to report that both concerts were great although too loud. I will take some earplugs next time as I am not accustomed to very loud music. David Allen Coe put on an awesome performance even though he has to be assisted on and off stage by an attendant. It is obvious that his health is in decline, he is now 73 years old with lots of rough mileage. But that still doesn't keep his attitude from being off the front burner. The crowd ate it up! I wanted a t-shirt but they didn't have one that I would wear in good taste. So I bought a pink ball cap with David Allen Coe embroidered on the front. Twenty dollars! I've never paid that for a cap in my life, but I won a couple of good jackpots yesterday, so I splurged. I had wanted to get a Willie Nelson t-shirt when we were there, but I just could not justify $45.00 for it, so I passed.

Tomorrow is the concert in Moline at the Methodist church with the County Liners. They are a great gospel group. Everyone is welcome for this free performance at 7:00 PM.  Busy busy!

Now you know why kids are losing their hearing at a much earlier age. ;) I really do carry those little disposable yellow twist ear plugs in my purse. Sometimes movies are 'way too loud for me too. Six, it sounds like you had a really good time. Our storm has passed with little damage here and a wonderful 2.3 inches of rain. I can just about see the grass greening up. Have a wonderful day everyone.

David Allen Coe is 73 years old? I had no idea.

I asked Jim yesterday if he had seen any hummingbirds flitting around. He had not, but I made up some sugar water anyway. I am anxious to see if they start showing up. We usually have 3 or 4.

On my way to Independence early, early this morning, I saw something running down the middle of the highway just north of the Stephens farm. I slowed down because I thought it was a little coyote pup. Well, it wasn't. It was a jack rabbit. Yes, boys and girls, a jack rabbit. It had the biggest ears I had ever seen, (except those on my dog, Colonel), and he/she couldn't wait to get off the highway. I wish I had been able to take a picture. My excitement for the day.

Wilma

We used to see a jack rabbit over in the vicinity of the Green Ranch.  I was really surprised the first time we saw it.

Beat you, Janet, I just now saw a hummingbird at our feeder.
