Uh, Larry. I don't think they make a Marine uniform big enough to fit this oversized kid !!!

Probably not.  I did get one young lady who was wearing army fatigues.  She didn't seem to have a problem fitting into them.

HELP!  I'm talking and I can't shut up!

I came...  I saw...  I had NO idea what was going on...

today i'm mending some jeans...thinking of how well Mrs. Hebb could do the job! One could hardly notice, if at all.  My mend will hold but looks prety rough.

Finished the last of the Fire Prevention judging. Now our first place winners go on to county level judging.Took down the Halloween decorations and packed them away and made a raid on the big storage tubs that have the Fire Company's Kid Christmas party things in them. I've been collecting little things and art and craft stuff for awhile now and in a couple of weeks we'll be putting together the kids' goodie bags.
Oh, and I won second place in the golf ball drop off the top of the aerial ladder! $250.00 in local merchant gift certificates! I won't have to cook for weeks!

Golf ball drop from top of aerial ladder?

Bet it bounced well. Good for you Diane.
I just spent past 4 hours+ without lights. Found out I don't have near enough backup lighting, (CANDLES)
when it happens again.
I get candles for gifts and can't use them, except once in awhile......not much light, but enough to see.
Course, no puter/tv/cooking (am all electric) and had to miss a church business meeting tonight.
Praise the Lord, it did come back on or I would not be on puter.  I called my friend on other side of Longton, and she said a friend on south end of town didn't have lights either, so guess it was all over.
Too wet and raw to go out front to see if any lights were on.....
I was able to finish my book before dark set in....kept going from window to window and found a freebie clipon book light that helped.
Now, back to normal............and yippee, I can still use my electic blanket....LOL been on bed since last month, tonight it will be turned on. Any body else in county lose power?
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

We were okay, but that electric blanket sure sounds good! ;D

I have had company for the past week. We spent lots of time wandering the backroads of Elk County. Last Wednesday I had a Dr. appt and we left really early so that we could tour the scout ranch. The trees there were spectacular, and the back road drive through the countryside to Sedan was gorgeous as well. After the Dr. visit, we drove to Pawhuska, ate at the Mexican restraunt there, and then visited the casino before heading back to Moline. We went to the south lake on Friday and had a picnic of leftover meatloaf sandwiches, bananas, and reheated coffee that I had percolated at home. Of course this required a small bonfire that we enjoyed immensely. We drank the entire pot of coffee as the day was brisk. I was gifted with a nearly complete set of deer horns, found caught in a tree trunk. They must have been shed last spring. Saturday we had a hotdog roast on the patio trying out the new fire bowl I bought on sale last week. I really like it, but would not want to risk more than a little fire so near to the house. But the ambience it makes is wonderful, and allows another way to be outdoors. On Sunday I barbequed steak, potatoes, sweet potatoes, kabobs, and some frozen philly cheesesteaks, and heated some bread that we had bought at the bakery in Independence the day before. Yum! Monday night we went to the hot dog roast at the Moline park. The weather was perfect, the turnout was great and the food was out of sight! There are photos on Facebook under "Get Moline". We did not have many trick or treaters this year, it makes it difficult to buy candy since last year I had nearly sixty and this year there were only about ten. I think the school night made the difference. Too much leftover candy! We also finished the book, 'The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing'. I was disappointed in the ending, but there really wasn't much else the author could do with that character. We are nearly halfway through 'Where The Red Fern Grows', this is a great story, and I had not read it before. Next we will read ' Dances With Wolves', and hope to come up with a copy of the sequel, 'The Holy Road'. Then 'Call Of The Wild', and then maybe some Tony Hillerman books. We'll see, my life is very full right now, and I feel blessed.

You sure had a great week.
Wilma, we sold 555 raffle tickets at $10.00 a piece. The golf balls were numbered 1 to 555. We raised the 100ft aerial ladder at Vince's Sports Center and dumped the balls out of a big bucket on the top over a putting green hole. The prizes were awarded to how close the balls came to or in the hole. There were A LOT of prizes! First prize was $555.00 in merchant coupons and so on. We made a lot of money and the area merchants were very supportive.

I am glad you cleared that up.  I had a mental picture of someone on top of the ladder.  Since I am afraid of heights it wasn't pretty.  It sounds like a good fund raiser, kind of like the rubber duck races we have here, they always bring in a lot of money.
