Wilma good for you.You must have had the "button hole" surgery that is downright civilized as compared to the kind from long ago involving that long 6'' incision and the drains and at least 4 days in the hospital. My one girlfriend had the modern kind not long ago and went back to work the next day at her desk job. Take it easy for a couple of days just because you can.

We call it the "band aid method".  I will be removing the band-aids in a little bit.  The reason I didn't say anything is because it sounds so piddling beside the problems others are having.  Let's all continue our good thoughts and prayers for these people.

Bonnie M.

Wilma, any kind of procedure/surgery may seem "piddling" to others, but, when it's you it's happening to, it is no longer "piddling!"  Take care, and I hope you recover quickly.

That's so right Bonnie. Unless you really are "piddling".... ;D.... it's no laughing matter to the person having the procedure. You have such a good attitude though, and that helps a lot. A big, but gentle hug is on it's way to you.

Wilma, that photo you posted looked like you were building a rock garden in your interior body....
Goodness, I'm sure you feel sooooooooooo much better.  I'm glad everything went well, and hopefully it will continue to do so.
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER....
THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!

Jo, I do feel better and I didn't think that it was bothering me that much.

Larry, I could have posted a photo of the gall bladder, in situ, or after extraction, opened and the stones on display.  Would either of those have been better?

Back home again. A bunch of us gathered at noon for the memorial bell ringing, including pulls for the 6 firefighters from Kansas that lost their lives in 2010. Then we bailed out of town ( It's UD parents weekend) and went to a good diner south of the football stadium . While we were eating, a group came in, set up and starting playing good accordion polka music. I regretted not ordering cabbage rolls and coffee! ;D ;D ;D
Wilma, you have to put those gall stones in a medicine bag now for safe keeping.

Good going Wilma.

Dang, I spent 11 days in St Joseph's Hospital, Wichita, in 1976 for gall bladder surgery.

Kept the stones but dont know what happened to them.

Wilma, It isn't that the picture bothers me, it was just my timing of signing on to the Forum that bothered me!  ;D

We went to the beach yesterday as planned.  Our daughter opted not to come as GD#2 had a slight cold and she did not want to take the chance of spreading it around to the rest of us.  I think it would have been okay because we had been with her all week and we haven't caught anything.  But, my daughter didn't want to take the chance.  My son's best friend and his family (wife and three kids) did come down and it was the first time that we got to see their new son who is 12 weeks old.  My son barbecued some ribs, turkey burgers and some kind of ugly fish for dinner.  DIL fixed a side dish or two and we sat on the patio and had dinner.  I stayed away from the fish (just too ugly) settled for the delicious ribs and a turkey patty.  It was all good.  After dinner, they were headed to the fun zone down the street and we came home.  A good day.

Today (and right after I type this) I will go over to the hospital for my monthly blood test in preparation for my monthly visit to the Oncologist.  I see her every  four weeks and get a shot in the behind which prohibits recurrence.  The blood test is to check that I don't have a recurrence of cancer.  Every year that goes by since my colon surgery lessens the chance of recurrence.  So far, so good.  It has been three years.
