definition of a "GOOD" American? That is a term that gets throwed around a LOT in here and everyWHERE else these days.
People are always goin"well if he/she/they were a GOOD american.....................fill in the blank."

"He/she/they would be this or that, DO this or that, vote this way or THAT way", and it goes on forever dependin how many different people you got talkin about it.

MY good American????? He/she/they are that quiet guy in the corner.....you all know the one.....never makes waves or STARTS anything but when you bring it to em you BETTER be ready cause you are GONNA get f'ed UP. Goes to work, pays his taxes, does what needs doin WHEN it needs doin......don't talk a whole lot so when he does you know it's fixin to be somthin you NEED to hear. Has his/her guns, his/her principles and DON'T really care if they agree with anybody elses, loves his/her kids AND his/her dog, KINDA fond of his wife or her husband and lives his/her life the way HE/SHE sees fit not anybody else including the government.

Well,

My opinion is that a good American is someone who strives to improve their condition.  The mathmetician and economist, John Nash, stated that when people try to do what is best for themselves, the society as a whole gets better.  I don't think that i could or would single anyone out on these forums as a bad American.  We are all very passionate about the direction of our country, we just differ on what that direction should be.  A good American takes the time to be educated on the issues, doesn't shy from stating his/her opinion, and stands for what he believes in.

I was taught that the most important American values are rugged individualists, doing the right thing when nobody is looking, helping those that are less fortunate than you, equality of all men (and women), freedom from oppression both domestic and foreign, and the right to be happy in any way i see fit (as long as i don't infringe on someone else's happiness)
