Miss Shirley Ann Rader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rader of Piedmont, became the bride of Robert Winn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Winn of Howard, at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 1955, at the Methodist church chapel at Howard.  The Rev. Phonce L. Mitchell officiated at the single ring ceremony before an alter decorated with pink gladiolas and blue daisies.  Mrs. Phonce L. Mitchell furnished the wedding music.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of pale pink crystalette silk over taffeta, styled with a fitted bodice and a scooped neckline.  She carried a white Bible topped with baby red roses, showered with ribbons.  She wore a two strand pearl necklace.

The groom wore a dark blue suit and a white carnation as a boutonniere.

The maid of honor, Miss Carol Ann Swonger, wore a light beige dress of rayon linen with green accessories.  Her corsage was of red carnations.  Dale Miller served the groom as best man.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Rader chose a dark navy rayon dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.  The mother of the groom wore a light blue dress with black accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.

After a short honeymoon trip to Osage Beach, Missouri, the bride and groom will make their home in Howard.

Mother,

Did you see where Carol Ann Swonger was the maid of honor for Shirley Winn?  I wonder if she remembers that occasion.

Wilma

I will bet she does.  I am pretty sure she and Shirley still stay in touch.  We saw them several years ago in Poplar Pizza when Daddy and I were having lunch.
