  My latest interest in self protection is the tactical flashlight.  You can use them to hit, jab and defend yourself with and  the light is so bright that it will temporarily disorient someone.  I looked at one today that had a strobe on it.  Yep.....I want one of those.

They are making them in all sizes now.  Some can just be carried in the pocket, you can wrap you hand around it for more strength, same premise as using brass knuckles.  They also have green led's as well as white, (some have red and blue), so you can see to read in low light.  The one I am going to get also has red laser and a compass.  I live around the block from the army surplus store, it is one of my favorite haunts.
