A True American test

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the rewards away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

How true this is.... Why would anyone want to work harder if all their efforts only benefit those who do absolutely nothing?? No sane person wants to do all the work for someone else?

Diane, I don't see the comparison or reference to volunteering and the example of Socialism that Teresa made. In my humble opinion I think the majority of volunteers are the same people that don't like the principal of Socialism. The voulnteers in most communities are the workers and not the people that are whining to get something without earning it. I am all for helping the needy but not the lazy or the greedy.

Diane, are you saying that socialism is OK to practice in America?

Just because someone donates time or money as a volunteer, does not make a volunteer a socialist.

Diane, I believe you hit the nail on the head with that one.  You're right, we are a nation of "volunteers" who do things without expecting anything in return.  However, being forced to do something IS NOT VOLUNTEERING!!  When that happens our choice to volunteer is taken away.

Taking away our choice to volunteer...Rham Emanuel...he supports a mandatory "civil service" obligation for all citizens between the ages of 19-25.

Obama on Redistrubition..."I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody"..."we will return the wealth of this nation to its rightful owners."

Or, there is his plan to tax the countrys most wealthy to pay for his healthcare plan.

Did some more digging and found these little gems...

"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."-michele obama

"We've got to make sure that people who have more money help the people who have less money."- barrack obama

We're going to reshape America in a way that is less mean-spirited and more generous." - b.o.
