Today's------old, but one of my faves...........

An elderly husband and wife visit their doctor when they begin forgetting little things.  Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes.

When they get home, the wife says, "Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream?  And maybe write that down so you don't forget?"

"Nonsense," says the husband, "I can remember a dish of ice cream."

"Well," says the wife, "I'd also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it."

"My memory's not all that bad," says the husband.  "No problem  -- a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream.  I don't need to write it down."

He goes to the kitchen; his wife hears pots and pans banging around.  The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs.

She looks at the plate and asks, "Hey, where's the toast I asked for?"

George W. Bush, in an airport lobby, noticed a man in a long flowing white robe with a long flowing white beard and flowing white hair. The man had a staff in one hand and some stone tablets under the other arm.

George W. approached the man and inquired, "Aren't you Moses?"

The man ignored George W. and stared at the ceiling.

George W. positioned himself more directly in the man's view and asked again, "Hey there! Aren't you Moses?"

The man continued to peruse the ceiling.

George W. tugged at the man's sleeve and asked once again, "HEY THERE! Aren't you Moses???"

The man finally responded in an irritated voice, "Yes, I am."

George W., a bit peeved at this point then asked, "Why the cold shoulder?"

To which Moses replied, "The last time a bush spoke to me I ended up spending forty years in the wilderness."

After his annual physical exam, Sam says, "Doc, I want you to level with me.  Do you think I'll make it to age 80?"

The doctor replies, "Well, you're in pretty good shape for 75.  You don't drink or smoke.  You don't eat rich foods.  You don't engage in potentially stressful behaviors like gambling or chasing after women.  In fact, you don't really have any risk factors at all. So, let me ask you a question."

Sam says, "By all means.  Ask me anything."

The doctor says, "Why do you want to live to be 80?"

"Lady," the boy said, "me and my brother are on a treasure hunt.  Do you have three buffalo nickels, a pork chop bone, a piece of used carbon paper......"

The woman interrupted, "I don't have any of those things.  That's a hard list.  What kind of treasure hunt is this?"

"If we find everything on the list," the boy said, "We'll win a dollar."

"And who's going to give you a dollar?" the woman asked.

The boy answered, "Our baby-sitter's boyfriend."

*--e-Day celebrates the mathematical constant e (2.7182818) on February 7 (2/7) in the month/day date format or January 27 (27/1) in the day/month format.

What is e?

Euler's constant "e" is also known as "Euler's number" after the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler. The constant e was discovered by several mathematicians who didn't know of its significance until Euler started to use the letter e for the constant around 1727. It is an irrational number that represents the idea that all continually growing systems are a scaled version of a common rate. The constant e is mostly used in logarithms, exponential growth, and complex numbers.

What do people do?

Many celebrate e-Day as Euler's constant day on February 7 (2/7) in the month/day date format. It is a day where people recognize the significance of the number e, which is approximately 2.71828. Although this is the most commonly recognized holiday for e-Day, there are other worldwide events that are observed that have nothing to do with the e number constant.

Today's--------so-so.........

Two mathematicians are traveling in a hot-air balloon.  They realize they're lost.  They shout down to a guy on the ground:  "Where are we?"

The guy on the ground thinks for a bit, then shouts up:  "You're in a hot-air balloon."

One mathematician says to the other, "Well, that guy was a physicist for sure."

"Why do you say that?"

"Well, first of all, he took awhile to think up a response.  Second, his answer is logical.  Third, it's completely useless."

She nodded, still sobbing, and said, "I know, but it's so terrible.  There were so many of them.  How many is a Brazilian anyway?"

Questions to ponder....

If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

If a deaf child signs swear words, does his mother wash his hands off with soap?

Is there another word for synonym?

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all"?

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms?  Are they afraid someone will get in there and clean them?
