The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall,
Arlington Cemetery and those who gave all,
Unknown soldiers, known only to God,
Sleeping soundly beneath the sod.
World War 1 and World War 11,
The resolve of the people to see us through.
Old Ironsides and Francis Scott Key,
The Arizona's sailors still buried at sea.
Fireside chats and presidential speeches,
Brave young men storming Normandy's beaches.
The Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls,
Men and women responding when duty calls.
Dakota's Mt. Rushmore and the sacred Black Hills,
Washington's picture on one-dollar bills.
Mother, baseball and apple pie,
Fireworks exploding on the Fourth of July.
Gleaming cities and tall church steeples,
The Peace Corps and goodness of our people.
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights,
The State of Liberty's torch burning bright.
Redwood forest and fruited plains,
Majestic mountains and fields of grain.
The White House and the Capitol dome,
Be it ever so humble, America is our home.
Lincoln's stout heart, men in Union blue,
Keeping us as one instead of two.
The Four Freedoms speech and Gettysburg Address,
A thriving nation that God has blessed.
With all the problems we go through,
We find strength to cope in the Red, White and Blue.
The home of the brave, the land of the free-
These are some things the flag means to me!

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER....
THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!

Catwoman

The Flag stands for everything that I would not only willingly die for but also everything that I strive to live for every day of my life.  It is the symbol of Liberty that I hold dearest in my heart, second only to the Cross.  Thank you for posting this.
