                                                       Death of Mary Allison

  Mrs. Mary Allison, formerly of Howard but who has been living at Parsons for some years, died at the Parsons Home and Hospital one day last week.  She was 75 years old, and the Daily Sun says:
  "She had been bed-ridden for about four months and the end was peaceful.  She was buried by the Relief Corps and the Pall bearers were members of the G.A.R.  She was a member of the Baptist church and Rev. Shouse conducted the funeral services in the presence of a goodly number of friends.  There were flowers and music, and gently and decently Aunt Mary was laid away.  She had occupied the room furnished by the Methodist Episcopal Sunday school in honor of their beloved superintendent for so many years, and being a soldier's widow, gave a part of her pension money for her board and room.  While it was a very small amount, yet it enabled her to feel quite independent as an inmate of the home.  She will be missed by the others, as she was always agreeable.
  Mrs. Allison was one of the early residents of "Old Boston," and this writer knew her from the days of 1873.  She came to Howard with her husband and son Robert about 25 years ago.  Mr. Allison died and was buried here several years ago, and Mrs. Allison went to Parsons to live.  Her son Bobby is still at Parsons, we are told.  A friend writes us from that city that "Aunt Mary" was highly esteemed at the "Old Folks Home."  She was injured by a fall some months ago, but was tenderly cared for in her last days.  Her old friends in Howard and the members of the W. R. C. will hear of her death with sorrow.
