Luela May, daughter of Aaron and Eliza Jane Grant, ws born October 9, 1865 in Bourbon, Marshal county, Indiana.  She came to Kansas with her parents in 1880, and settled in Elk County near Howard.

She was the youngest of four children, two dying in infancy.  She was proceded in death by her parents and only brother, B. Stacey Grant, who died December 3, 1917.

On December 7, 1886 she was united in mariage to Valentine Momma.  Two children were born to them, N. A. Momma and Mrs. Oliver Dickerson.  She was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Starr Chapter in Howard.   In girlhood she joined the First Baptist church in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Mrs. Momma was stricken with a fatal illness about a year ago and for the past three months has been bedfast.  She was carefully and tenderly cared for by her husband and daughter, Mary, but in spite of all that giving hands and hearts could do, she slipped away on Saturday evening, August 14th, at 10:45.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Valentine Momma, a son, Nicholas Momma and daughter Mary Dickerson, and three grandchildren, Mary Margaret and Bobby and Nancy Ann Dickerson, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Moon Funeral Home in Howard at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 16th, conducted by Rev. Harvey Hartman, pastor of the Howard Nazarene church.  Burial was in the family lot in Grace Lawn cemetery.
